Just for fun.

Mine is the woman who posted for advice about what to do about her husband who was talking to their cat really sensually. Not baby talk but like sensuous loving ”ooh your fur is so good my darling pussycat” and it gave her the absolute ick.

Every time I talk to my dog I remember her and chuckle. I wonder how she’s doing 😂

Screaming in the Sistine Chapel

It’s the first one I think of.

That and the Mexican house thief.

Cazzovuoi · 02/09/2023 14:25

Also whilst I predate Penis Beaker and many veteran MNetters hail it as the decline of MN, I loved it 😁

YesitsBess · 02/09/2023 14:26

The one with the creepy music in the garden and the even creepier deletion message.

Mamai90 · 02/09/2023 14:27

The one where the poster wanted a live in nanny but wanted her to work all day minding the baby and then share a room with the baby at night even though the mum herself planned to get up for the night feeds, she planned to go into the nanny's room several times a night to tend to the baby. She also wanted the nanny to find somewhere else to stay every weekend so her family had the house to themselves.

I had never come across such batshittery in my life!

sparklefresh · 02/09/2023 14:28

One I always remember was a woman who hoovered her house four times a day. Trivial but I've never forgotten it.

RaisedByHedgehogs · 02/09/2023 14:29

The mum who wanted to see if baby shampoo was really tear free so put some straight in her own eyes. I really felt for her but it also made me grin 😊 (sorry if you’re reading this and I hope your eyes recovered quickly)

Screaming in the Sistine Chapel

Yup.

Pebblesandwaves · 02/09/2023 14:29

Penis beaker was amazing. The lady with the puddles of water, people were so invested for months and months and then it all got deleted

HousePlantNeglect · 02/09/2023 14:29

The one where a woman's neighbour caught her licking plates before putting them in the dishwasher. I think, and laugh, about this every day when I load the dishwasher. Thank you MN.

Itsagreatdaytosavelives · 02/09/2023 14:30

@RaisedByHedgehogs very similiar from about 15 years ago. the mum who fed 1st born new foods in carpark of hospital. often wonder how she and child are!

BadLad · 02/09/2023 14:31

Oh, is Theresa May Prime Minister now? I thought it was Gordon Brown

I won’t name them, but someone actually managed to miss the Brexit debate and referendum.

Lilolilibet · 02/09/2023 14:31

An obscure very long one by a lady who was pregnant and suffering from that condition causing lots of vomiting. She had children and her husband was either abusive or having an affair. I think she lived on an island and had previously had a high powered job. Mumsnet came together and offered her emotional support with a woolly hug as she navigated the pregnancy and got another job. Things went a bit sour when she got back with the ex and Mumsnet didn't approve but it was a lovely supportive thread that went on for months.

BigOldBlue1 · 02/09/2023 14:32

The one on relationships by a poster called chicken something. It was really sad and I often wonder how she's getting on

NoTeaNoShade · 02/09/2023 14:32

Penetration Man and all of the ohmygod experiences some had, but one near the end of the thread where her fella was saying 'ave it' in a Cockney accent and she responded 'ooh baby' in an ironic way because she hated dirty talk. Makes me chuckle when I think of it 🤭

SerafinasGoose · 02/09/2023 14:33

Suzy Quattro's fat nan.

I swear I'll never buy another leather jacket again!

what was creepy about the deletion message? I missed that bit

itsgettingweird · 02/09/2023 14:34

The couple who took their toddler to a chain type bar/restaurant and he tripped on the way out and cut his head open a table (coffee type table) that has glasses on it.

She was incredulous that a bar/ restaurant had tables and glasses of alcohol.

Despite 100's poster empathising how awful it is when our LO hurt themselves it was just an accident. They weren't in breach of health and safety for having a set up as advertised.

It was one of those times I got so invested in a thread that I stayed up faaaarrrr to late and regretted it the next morning 🤣

Screaming in the Sistine Chapel

I thought of this just yesterday. 😱

Fartooold · 02/09/2023 14:35

I think the first thread I read was someone who bravely offered to wrap herself in cling film to see if she could lose inches.
I've no idea what happened but I was hooked on the site immediately, and often think of her when wrapping sarnies.
The 'I can see your minge' pops into my head everytime I'm taking kids swimming 😁

A very sad and tragic thread that I, initially, thought was a huge whopper comes to mind every single time I read a 'debatable post, and gives me pause.

tsmhero · 02/09/2023 14:35

There's one on a spooky thread where someone was house sitting and the puppy gets out at night and she chases it into the woods. I won't say all of it in case I spoiler it for someone who wants to read it but I've never forgotten it.

SerafinasGoose · 02/09/2023 14:36

Oh yes - and a more recent one about creepy dolls hanging from a neighbour's tree.

Viewfrommyhouse · 02/09/2023 14:36

Snapped and Farted

tsmhero · 02/09/2023 14:37

Oh there was one where someone with D and V swallowed the plastic ring of a carton of orange juice to monitor how quickly it went round her digestive system 🤔

I never heard how that panned out.

WorseDecision · 02/09/2023 14:37

Mexican house thief. Always.
