Just for fun.

Mine is the woman who posted for advice about what to do about her husband who was talking to their cat really sensually. Not baby talk but like sensuous loving ”ooh your fur is so good my darling pussycat” and it gave her the absolute ick.

Every time I talk to my dog I remember her and chuckle. I wonder how she’s doing 😂

My personal favourites are anything at all from PhyllisNight and her Fajita Fridays. I miss her. And think I started a thread to tell her so.

That thread is comedy gold. It surely can't be real?!

Phyllisnight yes that's the one, she went on to have the most perfect child the world, nay the universe, had ever seen. I mentioned one of her threads a few pages back when her son was a toddler.
Oh I miss Phyllis

@Rabbitnose please find that thread, I need to read it!

Not the thread I mentioned but classic Phyllis

@alargeoneforme @VeloVixen witnessed it, she wasn't the one who took it on the land train! I don't think anyone would admit to that 🤣

Oh god yes, that would make WAY more sense. As you were.... 😂

VeloVixen · 06/09/2023 04:48

Oh god yeah, definitely wasn’t me with the actual guillemot , I just saw the crazy lady with it! 😁

The penguin on a bus (spoiler alert: not a penguin!) was great

I was the penguin (actually a guillemot) on the bus (actually land train) poster. I still laugh when I remember that day.

Thank you for your thread @VeloVixen - very funny Grin I hope the poor bird was okay in the end and the experience didn't scare it to death!

Another one on public transport was the woman who wondered if she was being unreasonable by taking a pomade/nosegay thing on the bus with her because other people smelt bad. That turned out to be a wind up but it was a funny one.

Also, lemon drizzle cake war & the PTA. I used to think of that one when I made cakes for the school fairs when DS was younger.

It might be foxes? I don't think foxes ask for a finger up the bum 🤔🙄😂

Does anyone remember the post about the woman who thought she had passed a tapeworm? I’m terrified if things like that bit it was so funny and in the d d she thought it might still be inside her snd had given it a name? Sorry if this is upsetting to anyone. Tell me I haven’t imagined the is, please!

Tulipsalways · 06/09/2023 14:48

One where a lady was describing lying on her side in bed and said something about her tits lying beside her. Wish I could remember how it was worded because it's one of the rare times I've laughed out loud at a post!

One from an OP who worked in an old, mostly unused hospital building and saw a woman in a place nobody else would have access to, and a patient when she told him told her that apparently that was a nurse who had died at work. She was going to find out more about this but then never updated the thread!

I remember this! Julie!
There were lots of funny posts about the NHS milking people dry to the point even after death you still have to work there as a ghost

I feel like i remember this, it was the first time i'd googled tapeworm and it put me off pasta for a while.

Hummingbird10 · 06/09/2023 21:40

Yes, it was truly disturbing, agreed. I’m so glad someone else recollects it. I think what I found a bit of a relief was how kind people were about it, but also how funny the replies and OP were.

SirCharlesRainier · 06/09/2023 22:52

I remember one where a woman had the midwife/health visitor round, who was asking for information to fill in a form, and asked whether the OP's baby had the same father as her other child. OP was mortally offended, not least because there were family photos on display and the HV should have examined them/deduced the answer from other clues rather than just asking.

Then posters whose DC did have different fathers were offended that she was offended, and it all snowballed from there. I never was able to find it again.

One thread I remember is just because it was one of the very first ones I read: an OP describing her friend's boyfriend as having adult acne, by way of illustrating his poor character. I think she had got everyone's backs up anyway by doing the whole "Newbie here, hi ladies lol !!!" thing - anyway the first reply unleased hell including calling her a cunt. OP was then in tears and soo hurt, and on it went. I felt a bit sorry for her really, she hadn't really meant what she implied and had completely misread the room.

DoItAgainPlz · 07/09/2023 22:39

Ive just read the whole thread about Ginny - did the OP come back to update on whether she got the job or not?

Beeinalily · 07/09/2023 22:50

I don't think so, I've been keeping an eye out for an update. The whole thing was just so bizarre!

The doctor one reminds me of ‘someone’ taking their baby to the doctor because he was poorly.

The doctor asked what they’d tried… sleep deprived ‘we’ve tried everything… even infanticide…’ (Infacol!! the name is INFACOL!) 🤦🏼‍♀️

My mother once confused Sanex (the soap) with Semtex (the explosive).

My mother once confused Sanex (the soap) with Semtex (the explosive).

That's almost in the same league as Mrs Doyle confusing cinnamon for cocaine!

OneLittleFinger · 10/09/2023 12:30

The first one I got invested was an MNer who met the same motorist on a single track road every day and they'd never wait at a layby for the OP (who may have been on a horse). There was talk of a huge gathering in the adjoining field with MNers dressed as zombies and jumping out at the cf. I couldn't leave after that.

There was also the woman who passed her friend twice on one long straight road with no turn-offs. The friend denied seeing her twice. Wormholes and timetravel were discussed, but it turned out there was hidden farm track that circled back and the friend had to decided to trick the op.
