Just for fun.

Mine is the woman who posted for advice about what to do about her husband who was talking to their cat really sensually. Not baby talk but like sensuous loving ”ooh your fur is so good my darling pussycat” and it gave her the absolute ick.

Every time I talk to my dog I remember her and chuckle. I wonder how she’s doing 😂

If anyone could link to the batshit nanny request one or the one where the toddler tripped in the bar and the mother blamed the bar for having drink glasses out, that would be ace.

I know it must speak to some awful, low part of me but I love posts where it's completely obvious that the OP is, in fact, being unreasonable.

In fact, any examples of the above would be gratefully received to help me while away the long afternoon.

Echobelly · 02/09/2023 15:40

A couple of posts along the lines of 'My husband and I haven't had a night out since our oldest DC was born 8 years ago and now my best friend is having a child-free wedding a few hours away so we'd have to stay overnight and my friend says she'll pay for our room. My fit and healthy mum lives 10 minutes from us and has said for years she'd be happy to have the kids overnight but I'm worried that I JUST CAN'T LEAVE MY BABIES. Should I go to my best friend's wedding?'

I always want to scream at these ones: 'YES, Jesus Christ stop being a martyr and go to the wedding and also please start having nights out with your husband because you have a totally willing and able babysitter 10 minutes away.'

One with the OP sitting on the worktop and crying because she needed her husband to help her down. She then claimed she had flu, and a GP had diagnosed it, just like that, because her mum had rung him. Or some such batshit scenario.

Snapped and Farted

Yeah, definitely not one of MN’s finest moments

somethinghastochangesoon · 02/09/2023 15:42

Has anyone got a link for your mingle or cancel the cheque threads I can't remember these at all. Tia

Echobelly · 02/09/2023 15:43

On the funny side, there was a thread about sick husbands talking about 'the ill voice' and 'the dressing gown of DOOM' which was both kind of mean but also totally hilarious.

bucketsofdaylight · 02/09/2023 15:43

The music teacher one.

I can't remember exact details, but an OP had been quite rude to her child's music teacher over getting some info wrong (think it turned out to be OP's fault). OP then later posted that she only really regretted her rudeness when she Googled the teacher and found out she was actually a very accomplished musician.

She said if she'd known that, she would've handled it differently.

Penis beaker was amazing. The lady with the puddles of water, people were so invested for months and months and then it all got deleted

No. Way! It was a bullshit story???

LadyKenya · 02/09/2023 15:47

The screaming Sistine Chapel posts had me howling with laughter. Fantastic!

I often wonder about OpheliaRose and TomatoPlantProject. I hope they’re ok and doing well in life.

Not a thread but a post about a woman out on a date with a very posh man. She'd had a sudden fit of diarrhoea in the pub toilet only to discover there was no loo roll. She thought she'd sorted herself out until the man very politely asked her if she was OK, as "you smell faintly of botty". Every time I hear someone speaking with RP it reminds me of this 🤣

@TheShellBeach I wish they had edit on the bloody app

bucketsofdaylight · 02/09/2023 15:52

Also, the recent cat getting into neighbour's house one that went on for 3 threads and got more unbelievable with each update. Very entertaining.

Sorry, I didn't know it was absent from the app.

The Savernake Forest still scares me.
The tinkly music one that was deleted, I had an awful feeling that someone was being kept in the shed.
Many have had me lying in bed giggling, trying to be quiet and sounding like Muttley, the latest being the poster on the Coronation Street thread te!ling Ryan to tuck his bobby away - for some reason that really tickled me! 😆

EmilyBrontesGhost · 02/09/2023 15:52

MeAgainPeeps · 02/09/2023 15:03

The one with the cameras all around the house. He worked away but had set up internal camera system to stalk her.

Oh yes, this one, I think about that lady often and wonder how she is.

There were two children adopted from abroad by her husband and the finances were all very complicated as well. Looked like husband was involved in lots of dodgy dealings.

MN deleted the thread at one point, believing her to be a troll, but reinstated the thread after talking to her and realising she was genuine.

SussexLass87 · 02/09/2023 15:53

Reading all of the comments on this thread are really making me laugh.

Two very sad ones stayed with me...one where a lady had discovered her husband was in love with his colleague, and they'd become very enmeshed with the OW and her family. To the point where OW and her parents often looked after the kids, called her Auntie etc...everyone knew they'd slept together years before and assumed the OP knew all about it.

The other where a woman was convinced her husband had also fallen in love with a colleague, and she wouldn't talk to him about it...but it all seemed so sad and inevitable. She talked about how happy he seemed at the thought of the OW.

Still think about both those posters, often wonder how life worked out for them and always hope they found some happiness. They both seemed so strong and gracious in the face of such betrayal.

Since its been mentioned, what was penis beaker actually about?

AdobeWanKenobi · 02/09/2023 15:55

W0tnow · 02/09/2023 15:44

No. Way! It was a bullshit story???

Yes. As I said above she was also behind alphabet street and fucked up her usernames between the two, outing herself as being rather hairy handed.
