I don't know what these people think they are achieving. I think the mum was in a cab which looks like an electric car anyway, they refuse to let her get past.

Seen it disgusting I would of ran over the lot of them.

TRexTara · 22/07/2023 13:09

I think she was in a cab, but yes I would have done the same. You can hear the anxiety in her voice but the bloke she is shouting at just looks watless.

I honestly think I'd have become violent in her situation. Stupid feckless fucking idiots 😡

grayhairdontcare · 22/07/2023 13:18

I would of knocked him on his arse and kicked him in his face as i stepped over him.

IfLoveBelievesInMe · 22/07/2023 13:22

They're a public menace.

TRexTara · 22/07/2023 13:25

There was another video on Instagram I think of a man getting out of his car and physically attacking one of them, then it looks like he kicks the man in the head but I think he is actually kicking the phone out of the mans hand. But what had happened is that they caused a traffic incident and accident, you can see the side of the mans car is completely smashed up. He has to pay for that now.

I don't normally condone any sort of violence, but in this mother's case I would have lost my shit.

They are absolutely awful. Imagine stopping a mum from taking her baby to hospital.

Nothing has ever made me care less about the environment than their smug faces as they watch normal people panic.

I honestly don’t think they care about oil. They are just self righteous idiots who like feeling superior.

Jowak1 · 22/07/2023 13:32

I think if these protests don't stop soon someone is unfortunately going to die as they will be prevented from getting to hospital. The Police should remove them from the road they are annoying the very people they want support from! A parent will go above and beyond for their child's health god help anyone who gets in the way!!

Whatswhatwhichiswhich · 22/07/2023 13:35

Don’t understand how you tolerate that down in England. They’d not survive trying to block Scottish roads, they’d have been dragged off by their hair and forced down to let folk past.

MillWood85 · 22/07/2023 13:36

There will be a tipping point where violence happens and someone is just going to keep driving.

And I don't think it's far away having watched this.

DandelionBurdockAndGin · 22/07/2023 13:36

We've three times had to grab taxi to get to A&E - reason being we don't drive.
It is very stressful anyway so I think I'd have got hysterical at them in her shoes.

We did have family members tell us off though for not calling ambulance and just getting to A&E as fast as possible though family members have sadly since had to call ambulances for serious falls and been very shocked at wait times- I do think some people do assume it's not medially important or time sensitive if it's not in an ambulance though.

Though it could be she was going to consultant/clinic appointment and was worried about missing it- that stressful as well especially these days with fear you may not be seen again for months.

Are you not seeing what other people are? I’m desperately worried about climate change but JSO are doing all that they can to alienate “working people”.

The videos are readily available online. The car was right at the front of the queue, JSO were not glued to anything, all they had to do was drop their hands and let her pass. They didn't.

JSO have also been responsible for obstructing blue light ambulances...

@Summerhillsquare I don't click sun links and I googled it, it's true.

Quite. In that poor woman’s position I would have driven slowly and steadily at them, they would have moved. Of course, she couldn’t force a taxi driver to do that, at the risk of loosing his livelihood, which the selfish bastards probably realised.

Saucery · 22/07/2023 13:43

I didn’t read the report because I’m not interested in The Sun’s take on it. I can form my own opinion from the video and I see some arrogant little shits revelling in their power to stop ordinary people going about their business. How dare they stop a baby getting to hospital. Scum.
Someone soon is going to be injured or worse because of their behaviour and I hope it’s one of them, rather than someone prevented from reaching hospital by them.

Perhaps you can head on up to the some of the oil refineries and start there?

They already did. Took hours to shift the buggers.

It's not just in the Sun, I first saw it the news then in the metro, the video is also on YouTube. I linked the Sun because it has both the mothers kicking off. The one with the pram and the one with the sick baby in the same article and all the videos.

But they are not. They are doing it to attract attention to the cause (much as the suffragettes for example did), which as you can see from this thread and others, is effective.
