Pls help me find where to buy humane meat

I am looking for meat which is raised under highest standards of animal welfare: free-range obviously, and killed on the farm to avoid the stress of transportation to an abattoir.
Ideally in Wales as that’s where I live, but keen to hear of places further afield if they have a website and can purchase online.
Can anyone suggest anywhere?

The soil association has very high standards, look for their logo.
Also look at Compassion In World Farming.
Better still, try a vegetarian diet see how you get on.

This might help.

Go and have a chat with your local butcher. Good butchers should be able to tell you exactly where each cut of meat is from.
Please don’t assume that halal means more humane. It definitely does not!
Another shout for venison or game too.

I'm from another country, but I would look up any places that specify halal or kosher. Those should be the most humane places, and they would kill their animals humanely as well.

Animals killed for halal or kosher meat are not stunned first so they are still conscious and aware when they are killed. I wouldn't say that's humane.

Your local butcher, i am in Wales and also have local farms selling from the farm and you can check with them if it is organic.

PPQ123 · 08/07/2023 20:00

Halal and kosher far more barbaric. They're ritually slaughtered, not stunned first.

You never met a vet then 🤣

mfhtoeh · 08/07/2023 20:00

You need to find a good local butcher that sources meat from the best farms & slaughter houses with the highest standards.

I'd rather shit glass in to my hand and clap than become vegan/veggie 😘😘

N15 · 08/07/2023 20:01

There is no such thing as humane meant. If you are so concerned about animal welfare, why not stop eating meat? Better ethically and environmentally.

Halal slaughter is incredibly inhumane as no pain relief/stunning is allowed.
this has no place in a civilised country.
