...On his fucking Xbox in the past year. I'm furious. Absolutely furious.

3k?

Beamur · 19/06/2023 14:30

More than you can afford?

Aquamarine1029 · 19/06/2023 14:31

I can only imagine. Perhaps it's time to have a serious rethink about this relationship.

Itssnotunusual · 19/06/2023 14:31

Slot more than we can afford. He's on approximately 2k a month and I work part time in a school and bring home around £850 a month. But it's still an appalling figure if we were on more money than that.

Was it his money or family money that he spent? As you're so furious I guess it must be family money.

You have kids, and he spent over a month’s worth of household income on Xbox stuff????

Skyrim41 · 19/06/2023 14:34

What on?? LTB

It's money he's essentially hidden by lying about his finances. And money that should have gone in the joint 'pot'. All my wage goes on essentials with the odd soft play session. We live a very modest life.

£10k?

Skyrim41 · 19/06/2023 14:37

What game was it ?

gallina · 19/06/2023 14:37

What a selfish bastard

Temporaryname158 · 19/06/2023 14:37

2k a month! That’s insane addiction and you need to leave!

Cosycover · 19/06/2023 14:37

Is he buying games or in game currency?

I was shocked when I checked what I had spent on my sons PlayStation account. That was around £1000 in a year. It adds up without you even realising.

I will guess 5.5k?

LorraineInSpain · 19/06/2023 14:37

But I can completely understand why you’re furious - even £1k when you have that income would be a dealbreaker for me

£25k, £35k

Ohmylovejune · 19/06/2023 14:38

Old school here, how do you spend lots on xbox? Don't you buy the machine and then buy games to play at £50 a shot?

Presumably not just that! Interesting to know as I'm clearly out of touch.

Aquamarine1029 · 19/06/2023 14:38

Come on now, op. You'd have to be the world's biggest fool to stay with this man.

Motnight · 19/06/2023 14:39

He has lied about it as well? Oh dear.

I'm think that's what he earns.

There are in game purchases for things like gold coins to buy items within the game to make your character more powerful, blah blah blah. It's fucking ridiculous.

orangegato · 19/06/2023 14:41

What a fucking child. Reminds me of my mam’s phone bill when I used to use the landline to buy Habbo credits in the early 00s (aged about 9/10 might I add). How I’m still alive I don’t know.

Over a months wage is scandalous on something that doesn’t even exist!

Someoneonlyyouknow · 19/06/2023 14:42

The amount is probably less important than lying about finances. When you calm down you need a very serious talk. He has a problem and either needs to get rid of the x-box or have a separate account with an agreed budget.

orangegato · 19/06/2023 14:42

And to add the Xbox should end up in the garden, via an upstairs window.

EvilElsa · 19/06/2023 14:43

What?!!!!
That's awful OP. Time to go.
