M&S Super Nutty Wholefood Salad catastrophe?

I LOVE M&S Super Nutty Wholefood Salad and it has been my go-to meal option for years whenever I travel. I tried to get a few yesterday prior to a business trip and it wasn’t available. Tried two other shops on the motorway - no joy.
Eventually I found a smaller version, minus the salad leaves and humous. But the humous and leaves were an integral part of the salad.
Does anyone know whether M&S have discontinued the original one? Everyone I know eats them so they’re presumably quite popular, so why would they be discontinued? There’s no mention on the internet of this disastrous development. What’s going on? Please help!

Marks and Spencer often change or discontinue anything nice. I’m still bitter about a spicy pasta bake that disappeared when I was a child. They used to do a nice chicken tikka sandwich with mint sauce- discontinued. They did a pulled pork wrap with coleslaw. They changed it and removed the coleslaw. It wasn’t as nice after that.

Occasionally things do return though- I can think of a ready meal that vanished for years and then came back.

Hopefully you’ll find something else you like just as much.

I loved that chicken tikka sandwich, wish they would bring it back.

I had it 2 weeks ago, but don’t go into M&S regularly. I hope they haven’t discontinued it - I love it.

I had one yesterday , from a service station m and s in Scotland!
I have noticed that not all stores stock it though .

I hate when things change like that! Used to love the M & S prawn sandwich but it’s just not the same now.

M and S are the worst for this.

Asian marinated beef rump roast.
Salmon with herby sauce and asparagus.

I hate them.

I'm obviously over it now as I can't even remember what it was, but I know I held a grudge over them discontinuing something. I'm coeliac so options are already limited and at the time I was travelling a lot for work so trying to pick something up on the go was hard work. Starbucks and Costa also discontinued their gluten free wraps at the same time.

Oh no, that's my favourite work lunch! Why would they discontinue something so popular?

I still haven't forgiven Pret for getting rid of their Prawn and Dill sandwich!

I’m still annoyed that years ago they discontinued a really nice salad that had blueberries and basil oil in, possibly red rice also? I loved that. This was about 20 years ago and I’m still irked!!

They used to do a chicken and prawn laksa. It was obviously popular as even when they stocked it, it always ran out quickly. Discontinued. Recently they started doing a veg one - not as good but ok - also not available for past few weeks. It's infuriating

Hi OP - I think they still do this salad but now two versions.
One which doesn’t have the salad and hummus / tahini dip (which you found), and the other with the salad and dip (which is what you wanted). The latter has a new ‘plant kitchen’ label as part of their vegan range and so maybe is in a different section of the store now ?

I always throw the hummus away so this sounds ideal 😂

I love this salad, I have it today for lunch but haven't tried the one with houmous - will have to look for it now!

I usually buy it at service stations when we travel, but got one from our local M&S the other day.
I had the the feeling it was a larger portion/ higher price than what I usually get, but it did contain some sort of hummus (made from different beans, not chickpeas).

I was going to say this! It always felt like a real treat.

I haven’t forgiven them for discontinuing a pasta salad with cherry tomatoes & Parmesan years ago, or more recently the spaghetti bucatini ready meal. I rarely get lunch from there these days as they have all the same pasta salads from years ago, except the one I liked, and occasionally have a nice “special edition” sandwich but you know it’ll vanish again 🙄

When I worked in the office it was one of my go-to lunches. A small one that I think was intended as a side for the ready meal type stuff, away from the pre-packaged lunches. I don't think there was ever hummus though, it had teeny bits of broccoli and a ginger and soy dressing, but was definitely called the super nutty wholefood salad.

Bang bang satay dip is no where to be seen any more. Gutted!

Knickerbocker Sundaes from the late 80's. Still not over it.

I was so pissed off about them getting rid of fruit crumbles I wrote to them, they did write back but with nothing satisfactory. A few years ago they had summer fruit crumbles but they were smaller, harder and missing my favourite pineapple flavour. Such disappointment.
