Sounds a lovely person. 😅

VickyEadieofThigh · 13/05/2023 12:47

I thought the manager ("Luna") was a transwoman and the non-binary employee was a woman who another employee who was upset about being called a "lady" because of identifying as non-binary.

Quite how anyone is meant to know what is in a stranger's head before referring to them is beyond me. But here we are.

Swrigh1234 · 13/05/2023 12:48

This dude will soon be a celebrity, despite being an abusive misogynist.

Baldieheid · 13/05/2023 12:55

The word "she" used throughout that article has given me galloping indigestion.

QueenoftheNimbleFlyingCat · 13/05/2023 12:55

Whilst I don't agree with Luna's behaviour in the video and I am GC, this article is completely unnecessary. Why on earth did the Daily Mail feel the need to do this? Completely disproportionate response to an incident Luna has 1. Been sacked for and 2. Investigated by the police. This is not okay.

Eminybob · 13/05/2023 12:55

Why are so many of them like this? It doesn't do their cause any good to be seen as shouty violent misogynists, but so many are.

Good on Starbucks for standing up to him. They could have easily taken the woke route so many other companies do.

That was my exact thought. It’s been used deliberately in excess I think.

To wind people up no doubt.

This. It’s completely irresponsible witch hunty “journalism”.

Sissynova · 13/05/2023 13:03

Very poor taste. These public outings are totally unnecessary.

LuvSmallDogs · 13/05/2023 13:06

@Sissynova , it isn't uncommon to publish the names of people being investigated for crimes, is it? In any case, Luna was recorded committing Luna's crime.

Luna. It's a bloody dog's name!🤣

People behave poorly all the time, the disproportionate response to this 1 incident actually does stink of transphobia. Like I said, I'm GC, but this is a witch hunt and irresponsible of the daily mail.

I almost feel sorry for the individual, there's a lot of passive aggression in that article. Still, they were aggressive aggressive, so shrugs consequences and all that...

AnonyMenOhPee · 13/05/2023 13:13

I really do think you have to take the reporting with a pinch of salt on this. The woman says she just wanted to pay by cash but in the video is asking for a refund - clearly there’s more to it than the video shows. Anyway whatever happened Luna has been sacked - what is there to be gained by sharing her identity? Hoping for a pile on? People to take the piss out of her appearance? What’s your motivation OP?

Luna is a classical name not a ‘bloody dogs name’. If I was a cynic I would think you were trying to dehumanise the person the article was written about, but what do I know, eh?

drspouse · 13/05/2023 13:19

We know a lovely primary aged girl called Luna. Nothing wrong with it as a name.

Those neighbours' comments though 🤣

PonyPatter44 · 13/05/2023 13:21

I'm GC as well, and I think this is ridiculous. Doxxing is what they do, not what we do.

RufustheSpecuIatingreindeer · 13/05/2023 13:23

although I’m minded to agree that the mail shouldn’t have released the name I don’t get the above

she wanted to pay by cash, they wouldn’t let her, she paid by card, they wouldn’t give her the drinks, she wanted a refund….what more is there to it

AnonyMenOhPee · 13/05/2023 13:24

I think that poster thinks they’re being exceptionally clever to insult Luba without being deleted for transphobia

there’s nothing wrong with the name Luna the PP doesn’t like it because a trans person is using it

What reason would they have for not giving her the drinks if that’s how it went?

it must have been bad she had to go on holiday to “recuperate” according to an article I read in the Mail

cakeorwine · 13/05/2023 13:27

What do people think could be an outcome from this?

Media hounding?
Public hounding?

Sacked from their position.
Now named and shamed in the media.

WheelsUp · 13/05/2023 13:27

Even if the DM was inundated with info from people who knew Luna IRL, this article could have waited until any court case had ended. For example we heard more about Auriol Grey after her court case.

If they've reported this because Luna has been outed online then that's not a good excuse to publish this. Starbucks acted quickly so discussion should be paused until the police decide if they are going to take action.

itsmylife7 · 13/05/2023 13:28

I'm only interested if Luna will be charged with assault, which was witnessed by other people too.

WheelsUp · 13/05/2023 13:28

The woman says she just wanted to pay by cash but in the video is asking for a refund - clearly there’s more to it than the video shows

She paid by card but would have preferred not to as she doesn't want to leave a digital footprint of where she spends her money which isn't an unusual opinion to have.

HRTQueen · 13/05/2023 13:29

This has been blown completely out of proportion

There are incidents every day of people kicking off and being unreasonable

this incident should not be bought into the debate around self id it’s just people arguing and then others saying well you see what they are like

its like a witch hunt I’ve reported it to mn
