Had this conversation with a friend today that seems to think I'm high maintenance. I get my nails done every month and eyebrows and a facial. I also fake tan once a week. Botox every 6 months and get my lips slightly fillled twice a year ( I have naturally thin lips)

I was under the impression most women do these things if you care about your appearance. AIBU to think this ?

I do none of those things. I care about my appearance but instead focus on keeping fit, sleeping well and so forth.

I don't know anyone who does this.

Well no most women don’t have Botox and their lips filled. That’s a pretty depressing gauge you have on what it means to care about your appearance.

YABU. I couldn’t afford the money, time or inclination for any of that.

Is this a reverse or something?

I've never done any of them either. I'm pretty low-maintenance

I thought you were going to say 'cleanse, tone and moisturise' - I don't think many women have as much done as your list.

I do none of those things. You probably look a lot nicer than me though :)

I care about my appearance. I have a haircut every six weeks, and nails every three. I hate the look of fake tan on my skin. Haven’t felt/seen a need to use injectables yet.

Errr no! I get my eyelashes tinted once every few months ( I struggle to wear mascara) and occasionally get an eyebrow shape but that's it!

I don't. And I don't know many women who do - including women who I consider well dressed and well groomed. The cost would be too much for most women I know.

Yabu - I don't have the time or money for that.

Yeah YABU. A lot of people have their nails done. I'd say that's where it ends. Out of my group of friends - 5 women - none of us even has our nails done.

I mean, full credit to you if it makes you feel good, but I wouldn’t say this a normal beauty regime at all.

I use a packet sheet mask every now and then, pluck my own eyebrows, get my hair cut about twice a year, moisturise most days.

Thinking about getting a manicure though, have gone 5 weeks without biting them and have been biting my nails for 38 years so not really sure how to do them myself as never had to.

Where I work there are four women who do this. Everyone else thinks they look ridiculous.

Do you seriously think most women do all of those? Do you mean that you think, what 90% women over 18 do?? I’m baffled!

A minority of my friends have their nails done but no other woman I know well enough to discuss this with does any of the other things on your list. The majority of my friends don’t even wear makeup (I don’t either).

I know one woman who does all of that.

I know another who generally has her eyebrows/lashes/nails done

I know quite a few who get their nails done fairly frequently

I know quite a few who do none of these things.
