To ask why my buggy is permanently covered in dog shit?!!

I push a double buggy. I'm out and about a lot, walks, baby naps, school run etc. It's a really nice buggy as well, most expensive thing I ever bought and I love it.

Sadly it's now fucking revolting and I'm considering just setting the whole thing on fire.

Every day I seem to end up with dog shit on the wheels. I dont have a dog. I used to like dogs now I fucking detest the vile creatures and the morons who own them. I'm sorry to all the good dog owners out there but I am so SICK of having to sit with a stick and scrape smelly revolting POO put of the pram wheels.

It makes me physically sick and the smell stays with me and its just so horrible and disgusting and it's literally several days a week.

We live in a small town and I wonder if it's particularly bad round here...it does feel like everyone has a dog. But Jesus fucking christ does NO ONE pick up the poop?!!!

Obviously I try to not wheel through it, I do look and try and avoid it but clearly it's not possible because i still end up with it on the wheels.

The last straw was this morning I put the brakes on and got the kids out, went in house abd removed my shoes and then saw I had dog poo on my ankle...as I'd put on the foot brake, my ankle must of touched the wheels and poo had got on my clothes 🤢🤮🤢🤮🤢🤮😭

So my question is (sorry I just get so angry about this!!!) Does anyone have a brilliant tool they use for washing the buggy especially the wheels? I'm thinking like a brush/hose type thing...something I can actually wash it with properly? Or do I just get a big bucket and a dish brush? 🤔

Because dog owners are pure filth. Same where I live on the walk to my sons school. It’s disgusting and people are so so lazy and dirty

Oh and when we used a buggy (outgrown it now) just lots of leaving it by the porch and my husband would wipe the wheels with anti bac wipes

Could you have some 4 shallow tubs - deep enough to cover the wheels and soak the wheels in the tubs using soapy water? Or a pressure washer.

Yep we no longer bring the buggy in the house EVER thankfully we have a garage so I wheel it in there. However it does need to go in the car, so we have to wrap the wheels in bin bags before it goes in the boot. Obviously we do our best to clean it down first but I still grimace knowing they're probably not very clean still. I mean they're wheels...I don't expect to be able to eat my.dinner off them
But there's dirty and then there's dog shit dirty. 🤢

We ALWAYS pick up our dog poop. Without fail. Don't tar us all with the same brush. Thanks.

I'm sure there'll be posters along in a minute to say not all dog owners, etc. But it's just revolting and it seems every other person has a dog now so it's impossible to escape the poo.

I'm about to have my 2nd child and will be using a double buggy and am not looking forward to all the inevitable poo on the wheels

Wonder if one of those boot washer things you get for football boots would work for the wheels? A boot buddy? But then you'd just be left with a dog pooy brush.

It's disgusting round here too, there's absolutely no excuse for it (I say this as a responsible dog owner!). I swear it's worse than it was when I was a kid in the 80s before they brought in the fines etc for dog fouling.

The only thing I've found any good, other than the hosepipe on blast, is a pet washing brush that has a reservoir for water as well like this, but that might take you too close to the problem as it repulses me and I'm used to dog poo in general.

I have a double buggy, don't have this problem but it does get very muddy. I just use a hose on full blast and clean the wheels with that

@AlwaysGinPlease not all, but enough dog owners that there is a constant stream of shite on pavements, verges, parks and lanes every day forever … hosed down my sons trainers he wore to school today and that’s the second time in 5 days. Dog.crap.everywhere

Try having a child in a wheelchair, ours is a buggy style wheelchair and I sometimes need to bring it into the house to get the little one out safely and onto the floor. I use shower caps on the wheels when I have to load the buggy into the boot to prevent the spread of dog faeces into my boot. I was a dog owner, I would never have dreamt of leaving piles of my dog's mess on the ground for others to come into contact with.

Out of curiosity where do you think you’re encountering the dog poo? Are you wheeling through long grass? I haven’t stepped in dog poo since I was a kid and have never had it on pram wheels. I’m intrigued!

Would a boot buddy work? I have one for my walking boots. Fill up with water, has a brush thingy.

I am forever cleaning the wheels and DS’s bike wheels with buckets of water and bleach ! (We don’t have a hose )

I feel your pain. Since lockdown the number of dog owners locally has exploded. So many people have two, three or even four dogs. The dog mess has increased, it is vile and is everywhere, in park, in the local woods, the pavements, the gutter etc. etc.
