To ask why my buggy is permanently covered in dog shit?!!

Mummypig32 · 21/03/2023 18:49

I push a double buggy. I'm out and about a lot, walks, baby naps, school run etc. It's a really nice buggy as well, most expensive thing I ever bought and I love it.

Sadly it's now fucking revolting and I'm considering just setting the whole thing on fire.

Every day I seem to end up with dog shit on the wheels. I dont have a dog. I used to like dogs now I fucking detest the vile creatures and the morons who own them. I'm sorry to all the good dog owners out there but I am so SICK of having to sit with a stick and scrape smelly revolting POO put of the pram wheels.

It makes me physically sick and the smell stays with me and its just so horrible and disgusting and it's literally several days a week.

We live in a small town and I wonder if it's particularly bad round here...it does feel like everyone has a dog. But Jesus fucking christ does NO ONE pick up the poop?!!!

Obviously I try to not wheel through it, I do look and try and avoid it but clearly it's not possible because i still end up with it on the wheels.

The last straw was this morning I put the brakes on and got the kids out, went in house abd removed my shoes and then saw I had dog poo on my ankle...as I'd put on the foot brake, my ankle must of touched the wheels and poo had got on my clothes 🤢🤮🤢🤮🤢🤮😭

So my question is (sorry I just get so angry about this!!!) Does anyone have a brilliant tool they use for washing the buggy especially the wheels? I'm thinking like a brush/hose type thing...something I can actually wash it with properly? Or do I just get a big bucket and a dish brush? 🤔

Dog shit is everywhere. I despise dog people with every fibre of my being for infesting our streets and parks with the turds of their stinking shit-machines.

We need huge fines, licences, and dogs destroyed if owners don't pick up.

The nutters are out in force.

BananaPalm · 22/03/2023 22:41

Not sure if anyone has already suggested this but for precisely this reason we bought Hudson Pram Sled: www.pramsled.co.uk

Our buggy is constantly covered in bird poo so the Pram Sled is the only way we can bring it into the house without having to wash the wheels each time.

No I didn't insert anything. You said "dog owners" and only qualified it with "some" at a later stage after being pulled up on it. And just to be clear - you really need to read the law because disabled dog owners (whether or not their dogs are service dogs) are exempted where it is not possible for them to comply.

To be honest I am pretty gobsmacked at all these areas overrrunning with dog poo. I won't say that every dog owner around here is responsible, but there simply isn't the amount that everyone here seems to find around their streets and parks. Perhaps people should move to better areas? BTW, I live in one of the worst off 10% areas in the country. Maybe it's just middle class people who are so bad?

I really don’t need to read the law because it’s irrelevant when kids my sons age are treading crap through their school and then their homes because its everywhere. When I’m scrubbing it off my car mats the first thought in my head wouldn’t be “maybe the dog owners were exempt, let’s have a read of the law”.
I walk through some “posh” streets taking my son to school followed by some not so posh streets. Doesn’t make a difference… it’s everywhere. Clearly on this thread it’s everywhere and is a massive problem. Moving isn’t going to make much difference. Don’t know what the solution is, but there is a problem and it’s filthy. Pure filth !

Boogismyname · 23/03/2023 00:03

Jesus, there's some absolutely filthy bastards about.
💩💩💩

Ingrowncrotchhair · 23/03/2023 00:16

Same where I live. Fucking foul. It’s like an obstacle course

JackiePlace · 23/03/2023 00:19

Get a presuure washer hose thing. That'll blast all the shit off the wheels. Stand well back though!
There are no disgusting dogs, just disgusting owners.

Noshowlomo · 21/03/2023 18:50

Because dog owners are pure filth. Same where I live on the walk to my sons school. It’s disgusting and people are so so lazy and dirty

Not all dog owners
So rude

CallieQ · 23/03/2023 01:15

@Thesharkradar

I can't think why anyone would keep a dog, even a 'good' dog going that is a person who has to walk along swinging a little bag of dog shit
whenever I see a dog about to shit or a person about to pick it up or a person walking along swinging a little bag of dog faeces I feel sick and I try to walk as far away from them as possible.

What a princess!

BananaCocktails · 23/03/2023 01:26

Im sick of dog owners too if it’s not poo it’s wee . Dogs piss up everything leaving nasty stains literally everywhere
i literally have to play hopscotch near me as every other paving stone is full of shit
people even discard dog shit in doggie bags then just chuck the bag on the street it’s disgusting

OrionNebula · 23/03/2023 08:41

Agree @Noshowlomo. To be honest I don't particularly care if someone is technically legally 'exempt' from picking up shit. It's still foul. If you physically can't pick it up then either find a way to do it, like using a long-handled grabber, or pay someone to walk your dog for you, or you get a different pet.

Anyotherdude · 23/03/2023 08:49

“Because dog owners who don’t pick up after their dogs are pure filth”
There, fixed that for you!

Yes I dislike dogs and their owners, they should be shipped to an island of their own and let the dogs crap to their hearts content all over the place...

Maybe you could be shipped to another Island, other than the one we're currently on?

Pillowtalkkkkk · 23/03/2023 09:24

I’ve watched dogs poo on the path in the park while the owners are watching and then the owners don’t pick it up.

I am a dog owner, and would be really embarrassed if my dog pooped somewhere that I didn’t notice and I failed to pick it up.

Picking up poo is the gross job that comes with being a dog owner and if you’re not up for that then a dog isn’t the pet for you. I’m not up for a cat litter box in my house, or cleaning out a hamster cage, that’s why I don’t have a cat or a hamster.

I agree that dog poo everywhere is revolting. I think we’re at peak dog right now because of covid!

Sorry this is happening to you!

I use a pram regularly for my gs's. My dd's street well it is a dog shit run. It is a busy family area, big victorian houses and I never see anyone walking a dog. It seems they take them out at night to do their business unnoticed. One of the TAs at the local primary school found huge mounds of dog poo outside school, found out who it was (night time walker again) and posted it back through their letter box. It was one of the parents at the school.

I have two dogs and always pick up. Someone in the village was letting their dog shit everywhere and I began picking it up. My DH went mad and said I would end up the village pooper scooper. There is even a bin for dog poop. Just pick up and bin it fgs.

I do not believe for one minute someone posted dog shit through the culprits letter box, but if they did I hope the recipient prosecuted them.

This of you commenting "not all dog owners" and getting all offended and stroppy because someone said you're all filth...GET ANGRY AT THE ONES GIVING YOU A BAD NAME!!!
Don't be angry at us for saying what everyone else is thinking. Like it or not, half the people you walk past on your little doggy walks are thinking "urgh gross" when they see your dog. They don't think its cute. They don't want to stroke it. All they're thinking is "bet it was her who left that disgusting pile of filth outside the school last week..." because frankly for all we know it WAS you!!!

Is that fair? No! Of course it's not! And I sympathise with you I really do but at the end of the day it's the bad owners who are causing this negative feeling towards dogs and their owners. So be angry with them. Campaign with us against it. Stop getting all offended because we don't like your little doggy. Call out the dog owners who don't pick up poop. Use your energy to condemn disgusting victorian uncivilised behaviour instead of wasting your energy on defending the undefendable.

Yep!
That's definitely a thing 🤬

Latetothetable · 23/03/2023 11:51

I hear you. There are too many dogs. Not pushing a pram anymore but I am fed up walking to school everyday having to be on dog poo patrol so I can warn my kids. I’m constantly saying “watch out for that, mind that over there” 🤢

CaroleSinger · 23/03/2023 11:52

You're lucky. Where I live it's usually human poo you have to avoid treading into your freshly shampood shag pile 😱🤢

Some dog owners are.

I personally couldn't ever imagine not picking up our poo. Even if I didn't have a poo bag on my person (unlikely), I would knock on a door nearby to ask if they could spare something.

What makes you think we aren't angry at the arseholes who leave their dogs shit everywhere?

Why do you assume we don't call it out where we see it - you seriously have no idea the number of times I have followed some twat waving a poo bag at them saying 'would you like this, you seem to have dropped something'.

We have no more power than you do to force disgusting owners to pick up their dogs crap, and just like you, its rare we see the dog and owner responsible anyway!

What exactly do you expect us to do, we're no more responsible for it than you are, it isn't as if we're trotting down the pavements joyously pointing out artistic turds of merit!

I think you’ll find that’s what I was saying! I’m a dog owner, and I (and those that do pickup after their dogs) ARE angry with those that don’t. If I see someone not bothering, I offer them a poo bag. Luckily this has worked so far as the owners have been shamed into doing it by my bright and breezy friendly approach of commiserating with them about how “it really sucks when you forget the poo bags, doesn’t it? I always carry spares because of the local dog wardens…”

CrinklyLoveStick · 23/03/2023 12:04

I’m a dog owner and I agree. It’s disgusting. Some dog owners are vile.
