We have all head about transgender, but recently I’ve heard more and more about transableism. These are healthy people who think they were born in the wrong body and that they should have been born into a disabled persons body.

Surely this is the line. People cannot identify as disabled. People cannot pretend to be disabled. This is the point we must say that this is now mental illness. You cannot just go around identifying as whatever you want.

AIBU to say this is ridiculous and must be stamped out and the fact it even has a name is insanity.

The pink news article mentions a man who is transabled and wants his penis removed but fails to recognize the irony. For those unaware, pink news is hugely pro trans. In the meantime, I am identifying as trans-parent. Now I am invisible you must pretend not to see me at all times.

I've heard of it a few years ago when there was an article in a red top newspaper about a woman who identifies as disabled and use d a wheel chair but also enjoyed hiking when they didn't use a wheelchair. The person was also born male.

I tried to find the original article article and I don't know if this is the same person, I don't think it is but it's a similar story.

The line is trans anything. Transgender, transrace, transabled - you cannot change your biological reality.

Pretty soon paedophiles will start to identify as children so they can play in parks, join brownies/cubs, play in kids sports teams, go to soft play on their own and play with the kids. Then, hopefully, the people who make the rules will finally wake up and smell the coffee.

Schizophrenics have it. Trans ableism is one of the psychoses that falls under that umbrella.

One woman in the 90s made the papers when she demanded surgeons chop her left leg off cos it didn’t feel right. She did a lot of health tourism under the NHS and got nowhere.

Wherever she tried, no doc would do it - they’re not allowed to disfigure healthy people. She wasn’t healthy (well, her legs were but she wasn’t ok above the neck).

Woman sued cos it was her ‘right’ to have the body she wanted.

Judge said no.

I agree if we're talking about biological sex but to quote OPs example of the woman who blinded herself. She is now blind. She has changed that. That's why to me it is different if it's something you can actually make happen. Even if you shouldn't or the reasons behind it are some mental disorder. You can make yourself blind or have a limb amputated etc. Even if a man has his penis removed, he will still never have a womb for example. He will never biologicaly be a woman. But disabilities can be created, not all but some. If someone goes to those lengths it isn't just simple attention seeking. Something is very wrong.

Teen DCs say that this is a thing in school fuelled by the internet and SM where some kids are trying to out do each other with more and more bizarre labels or something to identify as. One girl has identified as a dolphin for a while now and another has identified as a fox and has an actual tail. The teachers are just supposed to go along with this nonsense. The pendulum has swung way too far.

I disagree that this is a special case of self identification that has gone 'too far'. There's no difference (in my eyes) to identifying as a different gender or a different race. Re gender, I do believe there are some people who could prosibly have hormonal/chromosome abnormalities and others that are psychological at odds with their body and what it represents so in that way I think you can 'change' or define your gender, but not your sex. I believe the same applies for race. If you identify as disabled and 'do something about it', let's say chop your leg off, id say you were in fact now disabled. This isn't new. Whilst not common there's a sizeable group of people wanting to become amputees and do some pretty extreme stuff to see this happens. Just as they do for a sex change.
So no, I don't think this is the 'stopping point'.

I mean, there’s a difference between someone blindfolding themselves and claiming to be blind and someone who is actually blind, even if the cause is extreme self harm?

I saw a documentary years ago about people who wanted limbs amputated. They felt very strongly that the limb didn’t belong to them. Which is delusional really, isn’t it?

Jesus fucking christ. If you poor bleach into your fucking eyes you are clearly severely mentally ill and should absolutely get treatment on the NHS.

I'm also not sure what the woman who blinded herself has to do with changing children into something people want.
