To KNOW Dcat was wrong and secretly think she should admit she was?

This morning DCat demanded to come with me for our usual walk (she's comes with me, for the first bit, when I take the dogs out). I explained it was very snowy and she would be better staying behind. I gave her plenty of opportunities to come back in once she saw the weather herself.

She disagreed.

She walked a short bit and demanded to be picked up. As a good owner I complied. At the normal part I leave her I put her down and continued on my way with the DDogs. Did my usual loop, met her at the usual waiting spot and carried her back.

She is not happy. She thinks I was neglectful to have left her and is now making her displeasure clear.

I think she knew it was snowy and should just admit she was wrong to come outside.

I know she'll never admit she's wrong but AIBU to KNOW she was?

I appreciate the solidarity of the handful of ypu who KNOW DCat is wrong.

However there is a slight problem now in that she has spoken to her brothers and enlisted them onto her side and now they are ALL blanking me.

I'm thinking I keep the peace with a non-apology apology. .... I'm sorry you are upset you were left in the snow.

The risk is it doesn't appease her and she ramps up further......

I think you’re going to have to apologise properly. She’s got backup.

Who knows were this will end.

OutsideLookingOut · 11/03/2023 14:54

YABU it is the look of betrayal in her eyes that gets to me. She has been very restrained really - she’s not angry just disappointed.

Snoopsnoggysnog · 11/03/2023 15:11

YABU for using DCat and DDog - I just cannot get on board with this

ThatFlightyTemptressAdventure · 11/03/2023 15:25

Ah solidarity from the feline siblings, this will not end well for you OP.

I suggest you settle this with ‘recollections may vary’

(your cats are beautiful)

Oh course yabu and you know it. You know it, dcat knows it, and even ddog knows it . The cat is always right.

This.

Bonjovispjs · 11/03/2023 15:50

Oh dear, I fear there's no coming back from this 😬 Three against one is never going to end well.

MrsRickAstley · 11/03/2023 15:54

OMD shes absolutely adorable. Her little face. 😻

Let me correct you:

My cat allows me to occasionally use her heated throw.

There, that's better. 😻

Quite.

I bought a hot water bottle, but at night the cat would lie on top of the duvet & somehow flatten himself over the hwb so that no warmth escaped for me to enjoy. I had to buy another hwb, & now we have one each.

RandomMess · 11/03/2023 17:49

This clearly ALL YOUR FAULT for letting the snow be there in the first place.

Know your place, cat slave!

You mean now your cat has one for his left side AND his right side.

Pottedpalm · 11/03/2023 18:08

I’m surprised your DCat went for a walk; yesterday my DCAT interrupted a tutor session five times to report snow outside his cat flap.

My heart has gone all melty at the thought he wanted you to fix it for him. ❤

SchoolQuestionnaire · 11/03/2023 18:11

Yanbu but I’d sleep with one eye open for the foreseeable.

neilyoungismyhero · 11/03/2023 18:11

This made we well up, my gingey dcat used to accompany us on our walks too.
We lost him to cancer last week and its so tough without him.
Your Pcat will forgive you.
Gorgeous moggy.

amberedover · 11/03/2023 18:29

So sorry @neilyoungismyhero ,really sorry .Flowers

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 11/03/2023 20:50

Same here @ifIwerenotanandroid, cat ended up with two hot water bottles and three beds overnight. One bed unheated incase it got too toasty 🤦🏻‍♀️

Its nice to have options.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 11/03/2023 21:27

Dcat accepts that one hotty bottle is enough, & allows me the other one. He has his own rules, e.g. when he kips on the bed in the spare room during the day, one curtain must be drawn back (so he can get up on the windowsill & check his territory) while the other must be closed (so that the light doesn't go in his eyes as he's trying to sleep). He's got me well trained.

LittleMousewithcloggson · 11/03/2023 21:29

Yabu
the cat is always right
(and I say this as a mouse!)

LammasEve · 11/03/2023 21:51

YABVVU, the cat is always right. Fancy abandoning that poor little cat in the snow 🤣 She is very beautiful.

This is why when I go running, I have to round up our cats, shut the door and run like hell - otherwise they all follow then whinge when I have gone too far (like, 50m or so, if that!).

Bagpuss1200 · 16/03/2023 15:09

This really has been the best post! Thank you from myself and Gizmo Cat for making us smile!
