To KNOW Dcat was wrong and secretly think she should admit she was?

This morning DCat demanded to come with me for our usual walk (she's comes with me, for the first bit, when I take the dogs out). I explained it was very snowy and she would be better staying behind. I gave her plenty of opportunities to come back in once she saw the weather herself.

She disagreed.

She walked a short bit and demanded to be picked up. As a good owner I complied. At the normal part I leave her I put her down and continued on my way with the DDogs. Did my usual loop, met her at the usual waiting spot and carried her back.

She is not happy. She thinks I was neglectful to have left her and is now making her displeasure clear.

I think she knew it was snowy and should just admit she was wrong to come outside.

I know she'll never admit she's wrong but AIBU to KNOW she was?

She’s such a wee beauty. You are very cruel 😂

Hoppinggreen · 10/03/2023 10:18

You just left her there - in the snow??!!
You are a bad bad owner and should prostate yourself before her while offering Tuna
Just because the decision was entirely hers it doesn’t mean the consequences are her responsibility

Soubriquet · 10/03/2023 09:48

I would lose a limb, or my life, if I tried that with my cat Grin

And the carrier would be torn to shreds!

Gingerkins · 10/03/2023 10:19

As far as DCat is concerned, you have committed an atrocity and you will be made to suffer A.L.L D.A.Y (or at least until the treats appear!) 😹😹😹

Muu · 10/03/2023 10:20

you should be arrested and a more suitable assistant supplied for your cat.

Shamdyhandy · 10/03/2023 10:21

Poor cat. You’re lucky she didn’t get hypothermia. I genuinely think you were a bit cruel - you could have made the decision not to let her out as you’re a human and understand consequences and she’s a cat

Outandup · 10/03/2023 10:21

YABU for not catering to her every whim! And what a gorgeous cat!

Maybe get one of these from Wilko next time for her to have a snow outing in comfort..

She was braver than this feline...

soddingspiderseason · 10/03/2023 10:23

I'm sorry OP, but I think YABU by taking a very human centred approach to this. Try to see it from her feline perspective. Firstly, you allowed it to snow, meaning her paws got cold and wet. Tsk. And then, you chose the dogs over her. You could have carried her home and wrapped her in warm blankets and fed her smoked salmon. But you chose to walk the dogs instead. This is unforgivable. With time, and plenty of catnip Dreamies, she may just heal from this 🐈❄️🙏

red78hot · 10/03/2023 10:26

🤣 brilliant, the cats face 🤭

RichardBarrister · 10/03/2023 10:28

YADBU. DCat is never wrong!! But is very cute.

Qantaqa · 10/03/2023 10:28

@soddingspiderseason

I did suggest to DDogs that maybe she would make everyone's life hell if we left her as she is (looks around) a bit of a drama llama but DPup looked so sad at the idea of not being allowed to go play in the snow. Hes only a baby ....

Awww look at her little pissed off face 😂😍

You monster.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 10/03/2023 09:50

I fully thought you were right until I looked at her sad fluffy face. Now I think she is right and you are a monster

Ditto.

Ellmau · 10/03/2023 10:34

Oh the face of judgement.

I hope the dogs enjoyed their snowtime!

Improbablecat · 10/03/2023 10:35

YABVU because the cat is and always will be right.

Now go and apologise to her, preferably with a handful of dreamies

Qantaqa · 10/03/2023 10:36

Dripfeed alert for all those of you feeling sorry for her ...

She normally goes and waits in the feed room for us stealing .. yes stealing ... the food left out for the feral cats so she could have done that. Or she could have walked back. (or not come at all but whatever). She had options. She didn't need to chose to be abandoned in the snow and then be so disgruntled about it.

And .. and she batted the dog on the nose when we came back for her! Shes mean.

Me: AIBU?
Everyone: Yes.
Me: No im not.

She is a beauty.

It's not even snowing where I live in case she wants to come and stay. I'll even pack her little suitcase for her.

[My cats would object mightily though. ]

Rebel2 · 10/03/2023 10:39

I did also warn mine it was snowing. He didn't listen

How about a coat? Dcat loved a coat..

Your dcat styled that coat beautifully.

Op, your cat is fuuuuummmiinnngggg

HMTheQueenMuffin · 10/03/2023 10:42

Actually i have a solution for her disgruntlement.

Either an electric blanket on your bed or a hot water bottle.

It'll shorten the war by years and save millions of lives.

ChimbarasiKotapaxi · 10/03/2023 10:43

Thank you OP - you've made my day

Lavenderzen · 10/03/2023 10:44

She's lovely. You always have to know your place and the pecking order!

Even with your updates you are still BU. Cats are never wrong.
