To KNOW Dcat was wrong and secretly think she should admit she was?

This morning DCat demanded to come with me for our usual walk (she's comes with me, for the first bit, when I take the dogs out). I explained it was very snowy and she would be better staying behind. I gave her plenty of opportunities to come back in once she saw the weather herself.

She disagreed.

She walked a short bit and demanded to be picked up. As a good owner I complied. At the normal part I leave her I put her down and continued on my way with the DDogs. Did my usual loop, met her at the usual waiting spot and carried her back.

She is not happy. She thinks I was neglectful to have left her and is now making her displeasure clear.

I think she knew it was snowy and should just admit she was wrong to come outside.

I know she'll never admit she's wrong but AIBU to KNOW she was?

How can you look at that sweet, adorable, sad face and not admit you were in the wrong. You shouldn't have left her!!! What a meanie you are 🙀

ClawedButler · 10/03/2023 12:22

I am not the cat in this scenario I would not use my servants computer to sell them on craiglist i am certainly not posting in mumsnet and pretending to be a human or anything like that it is clear the OP is totally unreasonable and the cat should cancel the cheque I will not be taking any questions at this time

problembottom · 10/03/2023 12:23

Blimey my DFatCat doesn’t put a paw outside if it’s cold never mind snowing. This is his current position. He says YANBU.

NotReallyTheVicar · 10/03/2023 12:24

YABU. Remember your cat was a god in ancient Egypt and should be treated as if he still was.

Tinner01 · 10/03/2023 12:24

YABVVVVU and I would tell the cat to LTB

Fizbosshoes · 10/03/2023 12:25

YABVU for not clearing away all the snow so Dcat could proceed as normal.

My girl cat protested a lot about the last snowfall in December when it laid for several days. Both cat looked mournfully out the back door hoping I had cleared away the snow, on day 4 when I had not, girl cat reluctantly admitted defeat and used the litter tray (they both hate using it) . She was very dramatic and did lots of noisy scraping and digging....and then pooped next to it! 🙄

Horsemad · 10/03/2023 12:27

Oh that little face! 😆

DCat is def NBU! 🐾🐾

WhatWouldHopperDo · 10/03/2023 12:29

Cats are never wrong, so the fault is all yours. You have been very unreasonable indeed and thoroughly deserve to find a sicked-up hair ball/ dead mouse in your slippers/basket of clean laundry.

Zarqon · 10/03/2023 12:39

YABU. You should have fashioned a cat-saddle and crawled the rest of the way so DCat could ride on your back, thus enjoying the walk but safely out of the snow.

DCat knows this.

Octopusmittens · 10/03/2023 12:39

So you think you’re her ‘owner’ OP, laughs heartily.

diddl · 10/03/2023 12:43

BrightYellowDaffodil · 10/03/2023 09:53

You mean you didn't carry your cat for the entirety of your walk? You MONSTER.

Ikr!

Me & my cat are shaking our heads in disbelief!

SomePeopleAreJustBloodyStupid · 10/03/2023 12:46

Of course you neglected her. Why haven't you bought her a lovely pram to sit in and be pushed? Or perhaps a sledge that she could sit on whilst you pull it?

MiniLeopardInTheHouse · 10/03/2023 12:48

DCat here stares at us pointedly until we plug in the heated throw, and in this weather is not straying from it beyond the food bowl and litter tray.

JenaWren · 10/03/2023 12:52

That face - how could you OP. It was a flat nope from my ginger ninja

JenaWren · 10/03/2023 12:53

Oops - forgot to add pic!

What is the cold white stuff hooman? Make it go away!!

Bribe her with treats or a favourite squishy food pouch.

AnotherForumUser · 10/03/2023 12:57

Sorry but totally YABU. Cats are never wrong (even when we meet humans think they are 😆). Your furry boss is utterly adorable 😻

AnotherForumUser · 10/03/2023 12:58

I hate autocorrect. Mere. Not meet!

Shamdyhandy · 10/03/2023 10:21

Poor cat. You’re lucky she didn’t get hypothermia. I genuinely think you were a bit cruel - you could have made the decision not to let her out as you’re a human and understand consequences and she’s a cat

🤣

Hawkins003 · 10/03/2023 13:11

Awwwwwwww a cutie kittie

Bagpuss1200 · 10/03/2023 13:14

YABU The cat is ALWAYS right and you must never ever think it is wrong.
Love this post! Made me laugh out loud, and we definitely need more laughter!!
