To KNOW Dcat was wrong and secretly think she should admit she was?

This morning DCat demanded to come with me for our usual walk (she's comes with me, for the first bit, when I take the dogs out). I explained it was very snowy and she would be better staying behind. I gave her plenty of opportunities to come back in once she saw the weather herself.

She disagreed.

She walked a short bit and demanded to be picked up. As a good owner I complied. At the normal part I leave her I put her down and continued on my way with the DDogs. Did my usual loop, met her at the usual waiting spot and carried her back.

She is not happy. She thinks I was neglectful to have left her and is now making her displeasure clear.

I think she knew it was snowy and should just admit she was wrong to come outside.

I know she'll never admit she's wrong but AIBU to KNOW she was?

Can't decide which comment made me laugh more:

HMTheQueenMuffin:
Actually i have a solution for her disgruntlement.
Either an electric blanket on your bed or a hot water bottle.
It'll shorten the war by years and save millions of lives.

or

Imtryingnottobother:
Did you not notice the big fur coat she's wearing.

maddiemookins16mum · 10/03/2023 13:44

OMG, a ginger and white girl cat - my dream.

America12 · 10/03/2023 13:47

She's so cute

SiobhanSharpe · 10/03/2023 13:55

Oh, that reproachful face! How are you not full of shame and sorrow, OP?
I hope you learn from this -- cats are always right and it shouldn't need to be said.

This guy is brilliant at nailing what unreasonable little fluffy bastards our cats are

www.tiktok.com/discover/Christopher-hall-pov-your-cat

They are so funny

ThatFlightyTemptressAdventure · 10/03/2023 15:12

I can’t believe 50% of people who voted think the cat is being unreasonable 🙀

FormerlyPathologicallyHappy · 10/03/2023 15:25

Their the people who don’t have cats.

Rebel2 · 10/03/2023 15:35

Mine has given up on outside and is demanding the crumpet I am eating
He says IABU not to give it to him

@Rebel2 I love the licking of the lips in anticipation 😀

HurryShadow · 10/03/2023 16:01

Cats are smart but dumb.

My friend's cat follows her on her dog walk too and also has a designated spot that she waits in before walking the final bit of the journey back home again when they return.

One day my friend went a different route home, so didn't pass by the cat.

About 5 hours later she thought "that's strange - the cat's not been home since... no... she wouldn't would she??"

Yup - still sat on the wall, waiting for them to return from their walk!

It will give him terrible indigestion.

Rebel2 · 10/03/2023 16:25

@KimberleyClark he asks what is indigestion as all he can think about is melted butter and I'm cruel and evil not to just let him eat it

I'm a bit baffled at all the votes for YANBU!

Well, they're obviously from dogs still offended by being given a slap for causing this wholly undignified situation in the first place with their infantile, hairy, slobbery and smelly wishes to go and play in that evil white stuff infesting the Feline Domains, Dependencies and Territories.

Now if a dog had done that it would have its picture in the paper and people would be using words like loyal, faithful, heartwarming, steadfast.

But it’s a cat, so it’s called dumb.

Their day will come, it’s just the thumb thing that needs tweaking.

bellabasset · 10/03/2023 21:16

It's not snowing here but wet. So she checked and went back to bed. She's very cross that the cat flap was closed. She came to live with me 18 months ago after I lost my very elderly cat. My ndn's had to move out in 2019 for the water company to repair the shared drain that ran under their house. Their cat moved in overnight and never really went home. My new girl is a bsh so can't hunt but ndn's does. She goes out with him and gets very excited when he brings things home when they're outside. In 5 days I've had presents of rats and birds. Next door's had more but they only have bits left

AIBU to monitor my cat flap. This was 2:30 am when I heard noise in the spare room and Freya is pretending she's asleep whereas Simba who'd hidden wanted to go home

How about a coat? Dcat loved a coat..

Mine has spent two days telling me to turn the snow off.

Not only that but I won't leave the window open so she can get snow on her nose while her bum is nice and warm inside.

Bruschettabb · 11/03/2023 05:08

She is gorgeous

My cat adores my heated throw.

Let me correct you:

My cat allows me to occasionally use her heated throw.

There, that's better. 😻

SomeoneSomewhere21 · 11/03/2023 05:58

I’m loving this thread!
My Dcat was so cross with me yesterday as I opened the front door to let him out but didn’t stop the rain for him.
He then tried the back door to see if weather conditions were any better and was even more angry to discover it was raining there too!

DeanVolecapeAKAelderberry · 11/03/2023 12:23

How can nearly half the voters think the OP was reasonable to make there be deceptively pretty snow in the environs of the poor dear beautiful wise patient cat?

IncompleteSenten · 11/03/2023 12:25

YABU.
It is physically impossible for a cat to be wrong.

ShrinkyDinks · 11/03/2023 12:45

Your Dcat is gorgeous OP - I say this to posters generally - please keep the Dcat pics coming - it's Caturday after all !!

RattlewhenIwalk · 11/03/2023 12:47

I think you'll find that it's the cats choice...
Even when it's wrong!

thing47 · 11/03/2023 12:53

One of mine comes in to tell me if it starts raining or snowing. He comes in, meows so I look up, and once I've said 'oh is it raining?' he goes out again – so he doesn't mind being out in it himself, he just likes to warn me!

Dontevenstart · 11/03/2023 13:40

The one time our youngest (now departed) Dcat tried to go out in the snow, she tried to fight it. All of it. Still wasn’t wrong.
