To KNOW Dcat was wrong and secretly think she should admit she was?

This morning DCat demanded to come with me for our usual walk (she's comes with me, for the first bit, when I take the dogs out). I explained it was very snowy and she would be better staying behind. I gave her plenty of opportunities to come back in once she saw the weather herself.

She disagreed.

She walked a short bit and demanded to be picked up. As a good owner I complied. At the normal part I leave her I put her down and continued on my way with the DDogs. Did my usual loop, met her at the usual waiting spot and carried her back.

She is not happy. She thinks I was neglectful to have left her and is now making her displeasure clear.

I think she knew it was snowy and should just admit she was wrong to come outside.

I know she'll never admit she's wrong but AIBU to KNOW she was?

Ha ha cross posted

Haha! That’s a ‘sad face’ worthy of the DM!
You do know that we’re responsible for the weather as well as everything else? Grin

Poor cat. You’re lucky she didn’t get hypothermia. I genuinely think you were a bit cruel - you could have made the decision not to let her out as you’re a human and understand consequences and she’s a cat

Have you spent too long looking at this thread ?www.mumsnet.com/talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/4759281-to-tell-you-not-to-run-around-if-caught-in-snow-exercise-cools-you-down

Lancasterel · 10/03/2023 11:07

Oh look at that little face! 😍

My cats are seriously hacked off with me due to the snow!

Rebel2 · 10/03/2023 10:39

I did also warn mine it was snowing. He didn't listen

I love that your cat isn't even attempting to style it out 😂

Scautish · 10/03/2023 11:08

Did you mean to be so rude?

OhDeniseReally · 10/03/2023 11:08

This cat is innocent of all charges! YAB Soooo U! 😂

BabyHobnob · 10/03/2023 11:10

Of course YABU, cats are always correct! You should be grateful she let you go out!

Want2beme · 10/03/2023 11:10

You're just a huge disappointment to her OP, as we all are to themGrin

LemonTT · 10/03/2023 11:11

You are all unreasonable to assume the cat waited in the cold. Obviously the cat went to one of the other human serfs who fed and keep the cat warm.

CaveMum · 10/03/2023 11:12

If you want to lose hours of your time, search Twitter for the words “cat snow” and enjoy equal parts “cats loving the snow” and “cats hating snow”.

You’re welcome!

Suzi888 · 10/03/2023 11:13

Can’t believe you left dcat in the snow and made her wait. Bad human. 😁

Dashel · 10/03/2023 11:13

Human = always unreasonable and wrong

Cats = always right and totally reasonable

You can drip feed all you like but you should be grateful to be owned by such a gorgeous cat who cared enough to accompany you outside

Plus by now you should really know your place. 😺

Show here this picture and tell her it’s stay home or this would be the alternative - I think that might quieten her down 😀

Fant9!

Did you not notice the big fur coat she's wearing.

longtompot · 10/03/2023 11:20

Gorgeous cat, but of course even when they are wrong they are right😉

The waiting on the walk reminds me of my old boy, Oliver. He was a big ginger Tom, with a very thick coat but not as floofy as your cats. He would walk down our hill when I would take my dd to school and wait at the bottom by some garages until I came back and then would come back home with me🥰

TheIsaacs · 10/03/2023 11:21

You have utterly betrayed her. Shame on you.

Namechangehereandnow · 10/03/2023 11:21

‘Is this a reverse?’ …. 😹😹😹😹😹😹😹 wins the thread 😹😹😹😹😹

OP your cat is so beautiful!! And she knows it 😼😼

CrunchyCarrot · 10/03/2023 11:23

You are wrong and being unreasonable, hooman slave!

Sorry my cat took over the keyboard then! We just have to put up with their treatment of us, I'm afraid. It's what you signed up for! Absolutely purrfect little face on DCat! I hope you have plenty of tuna ready, you're going to need it.

Maighnuad · 10/03/2023 11:23

LTB

Vates · 10/03/2023 11:24

I love this post but YABU. Cats are always right.

Kittlbua · 10/03/2023 11:25

Why didn't you carry her back home, make her a hot water bottle and then go back out for the walk with the dogs?
And what was your partner doing typical MN assumption that everyone has a partner while this was going on? Are the dogs and cat his? He should be pulling his weight. Bet he was rolling around in bed or doing his hobby or doing his Very.Important.Man.Job.
LTB - you'd be much better off on your own with the cat and dogs. Cat is probably acting up because DP/DH is a lazy arse... or something.

ThatFlightyTemptressAdventure · 10/03/2023 11:26

I think the cat is probably on Craigslist trying to sell OP and the dog.
