Mine is the work that the lady who comes to clean my house for two hours per week does, and to walk in to my home every Wednesday and smell the bleach and see the place sparkling is my happiest feeling.

I am a single full time working mother to three kids who to certain degrees are ND.

The joy and peace that paying that lady £25 gives me , is worth every single penny.

A bunch of alstroemeria in a pottery jug - they are such exotic looking flowers, seem to last for weeks, and are usually quite a bargain.

Just love them and a bunch of them really cheers me up.

Planting a new plant I’ve just purchased in my garden!
It brings me such pleasure and I love going outside to look at it again and admire the garden! 😊

Big mug of tea

Hot water! For years our boiler has been struggling and the water hasn't been hot enough for a bath. The shower has struggled in the winter too.
We had a new boiler in January and I feel gratitude every shower/bath I get in to. :-)

Knowing 16 little feet are happy I am home.
Unlike teens who barely grunt from their bedrooms!

The view from my windows over the open countryside at the back of my house. I lived in a much bigger inner city house 4 years ago but a series of disasters meant I lost my home. I was so lucky to find this tiny house in such a beautiful area, that suddenly came up for sale in my extremely limited price range. That view lifts my spirits every day and more than compensates for the loss of my other house.

Getting in to bed with clean sheets.

An early night on a Friday evening. I like to be in bed by 7pm, and then I read, watch telly, play with phone, fall asleep early.

Getting closer to the day of my personal achievement- and ticking off the days as I go - the day is 23rd March 2023

A cuddle from my eldest son, I have two younger children who are very affectionate but he's always been very self contained, even from babyhood and rarely touches anyone. Very occasionally he will give me a hug and it's so special because it's so rare.

Retirement.

For a long while after leaving exh, I couldn't afford to buy or run a washing machine and used to wash mine and 2 young DC's clothes by hand. I've had a washing machine for a few years now and I still sometimes get a huge surge of appreciation at the wonder of it!

Putting out new bird feed and watching the birds descend! Also watching the blackbirds run through my plants playing with each other and the Robins who likes to sit on the patio chair.

When my dog gets into my bed and stretches out next to me, along my back. She's like the perfect hot water bottle.
