Mine is the work that the lady who comes to clean my house for two hours per week does, and to walk in to my home every Wednesday and smell the bleach and see the place sparkling is my happiest feeling.

I am a single full time working mother to three kids who to certain degrees are ND.

The joy and peace that paying that lady £25 gives me , is worth every single penny.

Going for a walk in the sun
When you're singing along to music and you hit all the high notes

Looking out the window on a spring day when your grass has been freshly cut

Buying seeds.

Growing chillies, tomatoes and micro greens.

Just gives me a little internal smile.

The chuckling sound my horse makes when she spots me coming onto the yard.

Washing spinning round on the line on a sunny windy day. I hate the before and after bits of it but seeing it flapping away and drying gives me such joy!

Oddly, watching the water snails in my monstera pot (it's grown in water obviously). They bumble around very slowly.

Back to bed with a coffee and a fresh hot water bottle in the morning.

Hand feeding the guinea pigs their breakfast.

Sleepy cuddles on a Saturday morning with DS2.

That made me really smile ..

A bath, hair wash and clean bedding, all on the same night.
Watching the birds and recognising some of them, wood pigeons are not identical.
Bright, dry mornings, just warm enough to be outside without being hot and no humidity.
Peace and quiet, no noisy neighbours shouting, beeping car horns or having skips delivered every day. It is rare to realise that there is no noise and it is one of the greatest pleasures.
Watching my cat play, or catching her before she rolls off my lap, knowing that she is safe from her previous life.
A really good cup of tea.

I live along from an abbey and I love to hear bell ringing practice on a Thursday evening, it's just lovely.

I love threads like this. I love waking up with dh on a weekend when we have no plans and ds runs in for a cuddle between us before we all get up and have breakfast together.
My one working from home day a week. Just me and the cat in the house. I can hoover and put a wash on. Even better in the spring/summer when I can hang it out on the line and feel the sun on my face.

THIS! Like getting into a warm bath, sometimes it is my favourite part of the entire day.

I changed my washing powder last week and now every time I get a waft of the new scent on something drying it makes me happy. A very small thing!

A long winter walk followed by a pub roast dinner

That moment when you've just unwrapped the foil of your creme egg, and you're about to bite the top off...

Having the kitchen tidy after dinner and putting my pj's on for the evening! I'm easily pleased!

My mattress warmer in bed at night.
My heated blanket on the sofa.
My morning coffee and afternoon cups of tea.
Cuddling into bed with my youngest son, 2 cats, and dog (the dog leaves once we’re all settled… apparently we crowd him, he’s said!).

Seeing my two grown up children sitting on the sofa next to each other talking and laughing and thinking they look exactly as they did as newborns, essentially…the essence of them then is the essence of them now.
