Mine is the work that the lady who comes to clean my house for two hours per week does, and to walk in to my home every Wednesday and smell the bleach and see the place sparkling is my happiest feeling.

I am a single full time working mother to three kids who to certain degrees are ND.

The joy and peace that paying that lady £25 gives me , is worth every single penny.

What's yours????

Hot water! For years our boiler has been struggling and the water hasn't been hot enough for a bath. The shower has struggled in the winter too.
We had a new boiler in January and I feel gratitude every shower/bath I get in to. :-)

This!! Our shower was dying but my husband and sons don't feel the cold! It took weeks (of my DH promising to sort it) to get it fixed but now I'm having lovely hot showers and I'm grateful every day for it!

Ditto watching garden birds. And blackbirds are my absolute favourites. I simply love the comical way they hop /stroke run across the lawn.No face grass or chemicals here because they bring me joy everyday rummaging through the grass.

xogossipgirlxo · 08/03/2023 11:16

On Saturday and Sunday morning- cup of coffee and cat on my lap (except when he's stepping on my pregnant belly- this doesn't make me happy!).
Having my husband home for the whole weekend which doesn't happen too often due to different work schedule.
Face masks😂Or fresh manicure, new hair colour.

TallulahBetty · 08/03/2023 11:17

Oh and smelling DD's head. The place where her forehead meets her hair is THE most perfect smell in the world and I wish I could bottle it.

BruceAndNosh · 08/03/2023 11:19

DH bringing me tea in bed in the morning.
Not sure if it's the tea, or the fact that someone is there to make it, or HIM that's the most crucial thing!

FuriousFurious · 08/03/2023 11:20

Having a coffee in my favourite mug out in the garden
Looking at the stars. Even better out in the countryside in a summers night.
Going to a library or bookshop.
Watching the birds.
Having a clean dining table with a nice bunch of flowers or a burning candle on it.
In fact, just having a clean house full stop.

Sitting at the end of the garden,in the shade on a really hot day with a glass of wine

Emotionalstorm · 08/03/2023 11:27

Newly laundered bedsheets.

GlintingFuriously · 08/03/2023 11:30

Birds, esp. blackbirds.
Bookshops and libraries.
Walking near the sea (I grew up near the sea but now live far away from it).
Reading in bed when the rest of the family have left for school/work ( I work from home so don't need to get up so early).
My cat jumping onto my lap unexpectedly when I'm working at my desk.

I can see I share some of these with others 😊

MerylSqueak · 08/03/2023 11:33

Second cup of tea in bed on a Sunday morning.

Coffee in bed on a weekend morning sans children
Absolute bliss

Clean washing blowing on the washing line.

ConkerGame · 08/03/2023 11:46

That sparkly clean feeling after you’ve just brushed your teeth

And watching the joy on my baby’s face when she claps!

AmIDoingThisRight · 08/03/2023 11:47

Feeding the birds and watching them. It gives me such a thrill! Robins are so lively and blackbirds are a joy. There was a chaffinch this morning!
Listening to my cat purr on my knee at the end of a busy day (busy for me - I don't really know what he gets up to in the day).
Opening a new jar of coffee and peeling the foil off in one go.
Biscuits.
Tea. Tea every day. Proper tea in a pot with a strainer and a pretty cup.
It really is the simple things that make everything ok.

inigomontoyahwillcox · 08/03/2023 11:51

14yo DD crawling into bed with me when DH is up/away and spending 1/2 an hour or so cuddling, talking, messing about and watching banal 5 minute videos on Facebook/Instagram/TikTok.

It doesn't happen too often - but when it does, it fills me with happiness.

DilemmaDelilah · 08/03/2023 11:51

The first haze of green leaves on the trees on a sunny day.
My grandson coming up to me to tell me he loves me for no reason at al.

Birds on my feeders

HappyBirthdayLydia · 08/03/2023 11:53

I bought the cutest reading lamp for my corner in the lounge. It is just so perfect for what I need. It gives me so much pleasure using it.

Yuja · 08/03/2023 11:53

Picking up my children from school and seeing their smiling faces. They're in year 3 and 5 so I don't think I have too much longer of them being so pleased to see me after school!

welliebelly · 08/03/2023 11:54

First coffee of the day

Getting into bed with the electric blanket on 😍

Agree with this, especially with fresh bedding and pjs too!

Fannieannie63 · 08/03/2023 12:03

I love the views from my now home, it’s glorious but nothing beats the smell of ozone on my dogs fur when she comes in from her walk up the mountain. I love it.
