Sunday morning lifts and bloody McDonald's

Just a rant really.
My partner is going to away football to tomorrow. He'll be out of the house all day from 8am to 9pm. He's asked me for a lift to the train station, but not content with that he wants to go via McDonald's for a breakfast. It's slightly out of the way and will mean leaving house at 7:30am to get an 8:45am train, thus adding extra time on, probably means get up at 6:30am. I know that isn't that early for some people but I work 4 days and we have an early start Saturdays for DDs hobby. Sunday is the only day we have that's more relaxing. I have to get DD (5) sorted up and dressed etc.
He said the reason he wants to go to McDonald's is he won't have any other chance to eat anything all day! I find this hard to believe! The train journey is long but what about the other 10 hours? Anyway, we had a big argument and he said I'm a moaning cunt and that I'm making him drink on an empty stomach. Aww ..didums! 13 hours free time on a Sunday apparently isn't enough 🙈 it all seems a bit ungrateful.

I've no issue with the lift I just don't want to go to McDonald's at 8am on a Sunday morning thus likely making us late. The one nearby has issues with being short staffed and getting orders wrong, so I've no doubt it wouldn't be straightforward. We do have food in the house to eat for breakfast, he just doesn't want it.

he said I'm a moaning cunt for that alone he'd be getting a sodding Uber in the moring

breatheinskipthegym · 04/03/2023 21:04

I wouldn’t be doing any sorts of favours for someone who called me a cunt. Getting a 5 year old up and out (and flying solo all day) is already a big enough ask. He knows how to turn goodwill into bad feeling, eh?

breatheinskipthegym · 04/03/2023 21:05

Just re-read. I wouldn’t be putting a 5 year old in the back of the car for 2 and a half hours for this guy.

Murdoch1949 · 04/03/2023 21:05

If he wants a McDonald's, get him to drive & get it alone, then return to house for you to take him to station.

reddwarfgeek · 04/03/2023 21:06

@breatheinskipthegym I think so too! It just annoys me as whenever I go out with friends (rarely) I never ask him for lifts or to go out of his way.

Bye

Whiskers4 · 04/03/2023 21:06

I wouldn't have a problem with the time, but not to go to McDonald's. Can't he get himself something more substantial and take sandwiches. Maybe get a coffee and snack on train, as that and sandwiches will break up boredom of train journey.

Honestly? This is LTB territory, who speaks to anyone like that?

Bemyclementine · 04/03/2023 21:07

No way on earth would I be getting the 5 yr old up for that.

reddwarfgeek · 04/03/2023 21:08

@Murdoch1949 Good idea!

It concerns me that him calling you a cunt isn't the part that bothers you the most.

Whiskers4 · 04/03/2023 21:08

Oh, just read what he said about you. No way would I even give him a lift. He can walk, drive or get a taxi.

Alwayswaiting · 04/03/2023 21:08

I think as previous suggestions, he can take a picnic or go to McDonald’s himself and come back with the car then you can drop him to the train station.
if he doesn’t like either of those he can crack on!

reddwarfgeek · 04/03/2023 21:09

The c word isn't unusual unfortunately...I'm not that shocked he said it. Although obviously it's horrible.

You shouldn't be putting up with this.

fajitaaaa · 04/03/2023 21:10

Are you safe with him?

autumnboys · 04/03/2023 21:10

100% I would not be driving him anywhere after that. no way.

reddwarfgeek · 04/03/2023 21:12

@fajitaaaa Physically, yes. Although not looking forward to what he's like tomorrow after 15 pints or whatever.
@autumnboys I think that's the way it's going.

You should be though!! That’s such a vile way to talk to your wife, he’s horrible!!

SchoolCountdown · 04/03/2023 21:13

Uber or deliveroo McDonald’s breakfast to the house for breakfast before leaving.

salamanderturtle · 04/03/2023 21:13

I wouldn’t be doing anything for anyone that called me a cunt.

Unananana · 04/03/2023 21:13

No way would I be getting up and dragging my 5 year old out for anyone that called me a cunt. I hope he doesn't call you names in front of your child.

He can get a cab. Then you have more time, after getting up at your leisure, to pack his stuff and change the locks.

Did you miss the bit where he called her a cunt?

This is the unforgivable bit.

I'd be taking DH to McDonalds at 6am if he asked. But that's because he's kind, hard-working, gives me what I need and helping him is a pleasure. If he'd ever called me a 'moaning cunt' the only McDonald's I'd give him would be inserted up his arse sideways.

Yours is horrible, why do him any favours?

reddwarfgeek · 04/03/2023 21:15

@SchoolCountdown not in this area unfortunately.
