Sunday morning lifts and bloody McDonald's

Just a rant really.
My partner is going to away football to tomorrow. He'll be out of the house all day from 8am to 9pm. He's asked me for a lift to the train station, but not content with that he wants to go via McDonald's for a breakfast. It's slightly out of the way and will mean leaving house at 7:30am to get an 8:45am train, thus adding extra time on, probably means get up at 6:30am. I know that isn't that early for some people but I work 4 days and we have an early start Saturdays for DDs hobby. Sunday is the only day we have that's more relaxing. I have to get DD (5) sorted up and dressed etc.
He said the reason he wants to go to McDonald's is he won't have any other chance to eat anything all day! I find this hard to believe! The train journey is long but what about the other 10 hours? Anyway, we had a big argument and he said I'm a moaning cunt and that I'm making him drink on an empty stomach. Aww ..didums! 13 hours free time on a Sunday apparently isn't enough 🙈 it all seems a bit ungrateful.

I've no issue with the lift I just don't want to go to McDonald's at 8am on a Sunday morning thus likely making us late. The one nearby has issues with being short staffed and getting orders wrong, so I've no doubt it wouldn't be straightforward. We do have food in the house to eat for breakfast, he just doesn't want it.

How far is the station? I cannot believe he expects you to get your child up and out to give him a lift, has he never heard of a taxi?
The cunt can walk.

Aftjbtibg · 04/03/2023 21:16

After calling you a name there would be no lift.

reddwarfgeek · 04/03/2023 21:17

@MrsTerryPratchett I totally agree. To me, having all day Sunday childfree to yourself and being given a lift should be enough!

he said I'm a moaning cunt for that alone he'd be getting a sodding Uber in the moring

Amen sister
Tell him your not taking him the selfish person and I'd be seeking legal advice on Monday to leave him!

UsingChangeofName · 04/03/2023 21:19

Anyway, we had a big argument and he said I'm a moaning cunt and that I'm making him drink on an empty stomach.

I wouldn't be taking him anywhere after that.
As a pp said, it is worrying that this isn't the part that concerns you. Hmm

My dh sometimes goes out for his hobby from early in the morning. He goes to the shop and buys any food he needs, and makes his meals to take with him. Then arranges lifts with the people he is going with. Obviously doesn't involve me, as I am not going.

reddwarfgeek · 04/03/2023 21:19

@OnaBegonia It's far enough, 20 mins drive. But yes, a taxi is what I would do in his position, no question.

The c word isn't unusual unfortunately...I'm not that shocked he said it. Although obviously it's horrible.

You have a low bar. I would not being doing anything for a man who seriously called me a cunt.

PonyPatter44 · 04/03/2023 21:23

My exH called me a dumb cunt in front of our toddler DD. That was the end of our marriage, although it took a good few years for me to gather up the courage to tell him to leave. Dont be me, OP. A good man does not call the mother of his kids a cunt.

AnneLovesGilbert · 04/03/2023 21:24

Does he speak to you like that in front of your daughter? Would you tolerate anyone else calling you a cunt?

He’s disgusting. Selfish. Childish. Abusive.

I think you know that and that his ridiculous request isn’t the main issue.

Craftycorvid · 04/03/2023 21:28

Well, what a prince among men you have there! My sympathies! What do you get out of this relationship?

MichaelFabricantWig · 04/03/2023 21:30

YANBU and he would be walking if he called me a moaning cunt. That’s unacceptable.

pasturesgreen · 04/03/2023 21:31

No way on earth I'd be going out of my way to do a favour for someone who called me a cunt. He can make his own way to bloody McDonald's!

doodleygirl · 04/03/2023 21:31

Why are you with such a horrible man?

Devoutspoken · 04/03/2023 21:33

Can't he make a sandwich and take the bus/drive himself/cycle, you're not his mum

LoveBluey · 04/03/2023 21:33

I'm so sorry, I understand how easy it is on a forum like this to say LTB and how difficult it actually is to do so in real life especially when children are involved. The lack of respect is a real problem and I'm sorry you have to deal with that.

LumpyandBumps · 04/03/2023 21:33

You’re ‘making’ him drink on an empty stomach?
Will you be using a funnel to force alcohol down his abusive neck?
Will he also expect you to get your child out of bed and out into the cold to go and collect him in the evening?
What would you say to a friend or family member who told you they were being treated like this?
Are you sure that you are physically safe when he is drunk? He calls you a cunt and blames you for being unreasonable by not pandering to him, and that’s when he’s sober.

QuizzlyBears · 04/03/2023 21:35

So, all these replies - what are you going to do?

Littlefaeries · 04/03/2023 21:35

Dh and I have been married over 40 years and neither of us have ever used the c word.
How do you live with such a vile specimen of a man?

butterfliedtwo · 04/03/2023 21:36

Headabovetheparakeet · 04/03/2023 21:08

It concerns me that him calling you a cunt isn't the part that bothers you the most.

Agreed.

PrincessScarlett · 04/03/2023 21:37

The only thing I'd be doing for a man that repeatedly called me a cunt is filing for divorce.

Hellybelly84 · 04/03/2023 21:38

What he called you is enough to say bye for good!

bumpytrumpy · 04/03/2023 21:38

There is SO much wrong with this man and this situation.

You are in the wrong for facilitating him in any way.

You can do so much better than this. Raise your standards for yourself and your daughter.

cocksstrideintheevening · 04/03/2023 21:39

His jolly, he gets himself there

Strawberrydelight78 · 04/03/2023 21:40

I used to get the odd one delivered uber eats deliveroo and just eat deliver maccies. But last two we had were cold. So do my own now the Aldi and Morrisons patties taste just like maccies.

MassiveSalad22 · 04/03/2023 21:41

Sorry!? A moaning cunt?? He’s certainly not getting any lift from you now I hope? How revolting.
