Sunday morning lifts and bloody McDonald's

Just a rant really.
My partner is going to away football to tomorrow. He'll be out of the house all day from 8am to 9pm. He's asked me for a lift to the train station, but not content with that he wants to go via McDonald's for a breakfast. It's slightly out of the way and will mean leaving house at 7:30am to get an 8:45am train, thus adding extra time on, probably means get up at 6:30am. I know that isn't that early for some people but I work 4 days and we have an early start Saturdays for DDs hobby. Sunday is the only day we have that's more relaxing. I have to get DD (5) sorted up and dressed etc.
He said the reason he wants to go to McDonald's is he won't have any other chance to eat anything all day! I find this hard to believe! The train journey is long but what about the other 10 hours? Anyway, we had a big argument and he said I'm a moaning cunt and that I'm making him drink on an empty stomach. Aww ..didums! 13 hours free time on a Sunday apparently isn't enough 🙈 it all seems a bit ungrateful.

I've no issue with the lift I just don't want to go to McDonald's at 8am on a Sunday morning thus likely making us late. The one nearby has issues with being short staffed and getting orders wrong, so I've no doubt it wouldn't be straightforward. We do have food in the house to eat for breakfast, he just doesn't want it.

Could he get driving lessons?

reddwarfgeek · 04/03/2023 22:56

He does drive and has a car, not the issue.

KarmaStar · 04/03/2023 22:57

If it's a one off if have no issue at all and the dc will have you up early anyway?
But the language and self absorbed attitude is out of order.
Make sure you get a full day out soon op.
Have a good day with dc tomorrow just relaxing..😀

JackiePlace · 04/03/2023 22:58

Tell him to stop being a moaning c* and get a taxi as you'll be having a lie in.

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 04/03/2023 22:58

Tell that ‘moaning cunt’ to get a bus there and find his own way home.

please don’t put up with this shit. There is a better life without him.

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 04/03/2023 23:01

Are you happy being called a cunt?

Snazzysausage · 04/03/2023 23:02

@reddwarfgeek
I get how difficult it is to leave, I know it's complicated and especially hard if you've not much support around you. I hope you will be able to leave at some point and I truly wish you and your DD a happy peaceful life in the future.

Bunnyfuller · 04/03/2023 23:06

There’s a cunt here, but it isn’t you, op.

MrsKeats · 04/03/2023 23:06

paula is a man. 'Yaps'??? misogyny is alive and well.

Tophy124 · 04/03/2023 23:10

Woah! I was reading this thread as I sit waiting to pick my husband up from what’s turned into an all day drinking session with his mates. But the moment I read what he called you my somewhat neutral position changed. He is revolting for speaking to you like that! He can find a lift elsewhere. Disgusting.

Channellingsophistication · 04/03/2023 23:10

I wouldnt be doing anything for someone who spoke to me like that… thats abuse

Octopusmittens · 04/03/2023 23:11

How dare he speak to you like that. Tell him not to bother coming home after the football.

user1492757084 · 04/03/2023 23:16

Vile creature. Order an Uber with time for it to divert through McDonalds.
Pack a bag for DH for him to find on the doorstep when he arrives home.

paulaparticles · 04/03/2023 23:18

Well the name calling is out of line yes although she prob was moaning at least...then she drip fed us..OP you are in a rut here for sure and have bigger problems than being called a cunt

Beamur · 04/03/2023 23:20

Totally this.

Helenloveslee4eva · 04/03/2023 23:24

reddwarfgeek · 04/03/2023 22:42

@Helenloveslee4eva Of course we do!

Of course you do … but somehow it’s not ok for him so he wants to eat maccyd and be abusive to you ….

well done for not taking his sh*t !

HeavenIsAHalfpipe · 04/03/2023 23:25

@reddwarfgeek

I can't believe you are with this person who calls you a 'moaning cunt' for not wanting to pander to his manbaby demands. Who the fuck does he think he is? I'd have binned him yesterday. He sounds like he has the maturity and emotional intelligence of a 12 year old boy. What an utter arsehole.

WhereIsMumHiding3 · 04/03/2023 23:32

He's a Horrible person

He asks you for a favour then adds on 30-45mins to that favour as too lazy to make himself a breakfast or packed lunch before he goes or even the night before, and the choosing beggarvrywn calls you the "c you next Tuesday "word because you say you won't get your DD up at 6.30 am for something he'd never do for you ?

That not a partnership is it? Nor is it a reasonable "demand" that deserves verbal abuse if you say 'nope sorry can't do that '

Despicable man

reddwarfgeek · 04/03/2023 23:34

@Snazzysausage Thank you Flowers

He does drive and has a car, not the issue.

Then why the hell isnt he driving himself? Tough if he wants to drink, he has just ruined that option for himself

reddwarfgeek · 04/03/2023 23:36

@paulaparticles Sorry if i annoyed you by drip feeding! I didn't think I did.

OP was already helping him by caring for their child so he could go and have a 13 hour jolly , and after 15 pints he wouldn’t have been much use to her on his return.
She had also agreed to get up early on the only day she might not have to have rushed around, which also meant having to take their child with her. That wasn’t enough for him. She was allowed to moan.
In my family the teenagers sometimes moan at me, or I at them, my DH and I sometimes moan at each other. We have never resorted to personal abuse as a result. Her partner’s behaviour is indefensible.

ghostyslovesheets · 04/03/2023 21:03

he said I'm a moaning cunt for that alone he'd be getting a sodding Uber in the moring

This. But maybe instead of an uber a divorce lawyer? What.the.fuck? Who talks to their supposedly loved ones like that?

reddwarfgeek · 04/03/2023 23:36

Thanks to everyone for the replies and kind words. I'm off to bed now and hoping for a relaxed morning. Cheers.
