To not tip hairdresser?

My appointment was at 11:45. I'm still waiting to be seen. My hairdresser has also said they're unable to do what I booked as they're double booked, so can only do half of what I want (have to leave my roots and can't dye). I always, always tip at hairdressers and restaurants, I usually give her £20 tip for a £90 appointment but I'm really annoyed, I'm going out tonight and wanted my roots and colour done, plus I'm still waiting to actually be seen. I booked for roots, dye, haircut and blow dry, but they are only able to do cut and blow dry. AIBU if I don't tip today? I feel bad but I'm really annoyed at the same time.

I wouldn't even be waiting let alone tipping. That's awful service.

I always tip but I wouldn't tip for this poor service today YANBU.

Of course you don't tip! And I wouldn't be going back either (and telling them why)

No tip? I would have left, and never go back. Find a new hairdresser.

Out of interest, who booked in the appt? The stylist or someone else?

This, I have walked out before for after being kept waiting for too long and found the hairdresser directly opposite them much better, now they have my custom.

I'd ask to rebook to have everything done together.

@Nanny0gg I did on their app, have done so a few times in the past with no issues and booked the thing I needed.

£20 tip?? . Faints. If they can't do all you booked for they should offer to reschedule your whole appointment. I would just walk out and say sorry that doesn't work for me. I wouldn't let them do half a job.

They don't value your custom. Go somewhere else.

I did think about leaving BUT I have a night out tonight that I'm really excited for and wanted to look nice plus, it's Saturday afternoon, no one else will have anything and would probably need to do a patch test.

Definitely no tip today! I think being a generous tipper can work against you in some cases because the service provider assumes you’re a soft touch who will put up with service that comes below expectations and still come back, and still tip.

Ask if they’re giving you a discount seeing as they are unable to provide you with the service you booked.

You usually give a massive needless tip so absolutely under no circumstances should you tip today, how can you even ask, when they're not fulfilling what you booked and are behind time on it already? I also wouldn't be waiting, book somewhere else that will actually provide the service you requested.

@MelchiorsMistress I did kind of say about that I'm not getting what I booked and they said they're only charging me for what I'm having done, which does cost less because it's not what I booked!

Why do you give such a big tip? They decide their prices there's no requirement on you to tip.

Don’t stay for the cut and blow dry. You can sort a blow dry yourself and a cut can wait a week or so while you look for someone else.

@Garman I don't know really, I just feel grateful for the service they provide which is usually good.

Just leave and take a chance at another Salon or just take the extra time to blow dry nice yourself at home. I wouldn't wait, they've basically cancel the appointment for you.

Honestly why stay? You’ll end up paying for a blow dry as well when you get your colour done.

I don't mean to drip feed but DP and I only have one key atm, I lost mine a few weeks ago and told him I'd be out until 3:30 so I can't actually go home.
