AIBU to think this is not tat

Recently purchased this rather gorgeous glass and metal pineapple from our local charity shop. I love it, but DH thinks it's ugly tat. Obviously he's wrong and has no appreciation for it's beauty. Maybe you lovely MN'ers can settle this argument for me.

Is it a cookie jar? Looks like there’s a lid that comes off. If it literally serves no purpose then yes total tat. If it is a jar then that’s slightly redeeming and it’s just tacky.
