That's more like something I'd expect to see someone wearing to a nightclub on a Friday or Saturday night!

More clubbing than prom but probably somewhere would have worn to our version of prom years ago when it wasn't expected to where some massive bridesmaid style dress.

What's wrong with it? It's a bit 'night-out' but prom is a big thing for girls that age and they want to look like their peers/celebs they admire. Release the pearls.

I think it’s cheap and tarty looking, and there is a middle ground between a “massive bridesmaid dress) and something like this.

I'd have worn that 20 years ago. We didn't have a prom, we had a Ball over the co-op, lots of dresses not far off that one.

Seen worse. I was looking for an evening dress for a cruise and some of the "dresses" on sale would have caused heart attacks!

I think the problem is you couldn't wear knickers with it so it would be risky to say the least, especially round guys that age.

And you couldn’t sit down in it all night for fear of doing a Sharon Stone. Mind you I don’t expect there is much sitting down at proms anyway.

I’m sure plenty would. Not my cup of tea, even if I was that age or had that figure. It’s nice to leave something to the imagination.
