Unbelievable.

I think they’ve just thrown in a few related keywords to get more views, honestly. It’s a very skimpy clubbing dress.

HypaHypa · 19/10/2022 17:01

Ohh, they always use those type of words as pp have said. It's just advertising isn't it.

Cheap and tarty is a bit much, let the young be young, OP. Would I advise my daughter not to wear it? Probably, very gently. I feel a bit cold looking at it.

I find your outrage amusing, so if I were your daughter, I'd laugh, stick it in my bag and saunter home in it. Yes, my mother reacted with horror too 🤣

miceonabranch · 19/10/2022 17:02

Damn, they don't have it in my size 🤔

Tipsyturvychocolatemonster · 19/10/2022 17:03

Cheap and tarty is a bit much. 😱 it’s just a bloody dress.

TheMousePipes · 19/10/2022 17:04

It’s essentially a bikini with some extra bits.

Dynamicdinosaur · 19/10/2022 17:04

Pretty much a prom dress in my book

Underanothersky · 19/10/2022 17:05

KimberleyClark · 19/10/2022 16:15

I think it’s cheap and tarty looking, and there is a middle ground between a “massive bridesmaid dress) and something like this.

So don't wear it then.

sandytooth · 19/10/2022 17:05

It's fine and has a fair few watchers so I assume people are interested

CSR721 · 19/10/2022 17:06

The link doesn't work for me, I really want to see 😂

Why judge women by what they wear. "TARTY" is a term of insult given by men and I'll leave you to work out why they would choose to use such derogatory language about a woman.

viques · 19/10/2022 17:21

Who would wear it? Any going on 24 16 year old who thinks the Kardashians are amazing! Needs a vest though.

Shodan · 19/10/2022 17:25

Needs a vest though

😂I was going to say exactly the same.

Big pair of pants and a nice woolly vest and it'll be fine.

antipodeancanary · 19/10/2022 17:27

She looks bloody ridiculous. For any event. She looks like she thinks her worth is tied up with her sexual attractiveness.

ReneBumsWombats · 19/10/2022 17:29

Someone who definitely doesn't need Spanx.

Oh leave her alone, she's a professional model. It's her job to wear what she's told and smile.

Dixiechickonhols · 19/10/2022 17:32

It’s a club not a prom dress. They probably use same wording on all adverts. Prom was full length dresses. Tight with split up seemed most popular style at DD’s school this summer.

LapinR0se · 19/10/2022 17:33

If I wore that I’d look like a raw sausage stuck in a fishing line

SydneySage · 19/10/2022 17:33

haha the photoshopping needs work

Leakygutter · 19/10/2022 17:34

It looks very similar to a lot of the prom photos I see parents proudly posting round here. The dress is usually long but the look is very familiar and equally tight/revealing.

Good old misogyny.

What outfits have you seen men in that are tarty?

42isthemeaning · 19/10/2022 17:36

It's Newcastle on a Saturday night

LouisCatorze · 19/10/2022 17:36

I wouldn't say that's appropriate for a school prom at all. It just looks beyond tarty. There is no way DD would feel sufficiently body con (even though she has a lovely figure) as a mid teen to wear something as super revealing as that.

On the other hand, I think wearing long dresses for proms is old-fashioned and makes girls look a bit frumpy.

There is certainly a middle-way that leaves something to the imagination but is also super flattering to a young woman's figure. The type of quirky dresses they sell in Zara fit the bill.

ThisIsMeToooo · 19/10/2022 17:39

I think it's advertising something else.

1FootInTheRave · 19/10/2022 17:42

She'll catch her death of cold in that.

KimberleyClark · 19/10/2022 17:42

I don’t think something like this is frumpy at all. It’s a shame if girls think that anything not super revealing is by definition frumpy.
