DS is 13 and suddenly has taken an interest in ‘fashion’ which mostly seems to be dressing in all black sports logos and puffa
jackets. Nike trainers, puma joggers, north face hoody - you get the idea.

oh, and calling us ‘fam’ every frigging minute,

given that he’s a white, MC kid, in a MC area at a MC school ( state but uniform with tie/blazer/shirt etc) with all that comes with that, I think it’s annoying/amusing and that he’ll grow out of this fake ‘street’ phase.

DH on the other hand thinks that he’s dressing. like a drug dealer and we should go buy him some Boden or something.

AIBU to just let 13 year old to dress how he likes??

Bless him it's not new. We used to call it Jafaican or Trustafarian. White MC boys trying on oppression as fashion. They grow out of it. Or round my old manor they'd get told.

It’s worse with girls. We are at our wits end. Dd2 aged 13 nearly 14 wears the most outrageous outfits. If we say anything we are “victim blaming anti feminists” apparently.

i think it’s the grey joggers. He does sometimes wear dickies chinos which are far far nicer.

They aren't fully little dealers till you get them the little mini man bags to keep the ten bits in.
