DS is 13 and suddenly has taken an interest in ‘fashion’ which mostly seems to be dressing in all black sports logos and puffa
jackets. Nike trainers, puma joggers, north face hoody - you get the idea.

oh, and calling us ‘fam’ every frigging minute,
innit bruv.

given that he’s a white, MC kid, in a MC area at a MC school ( state but uniform with tie/blazer/shirt etc) with all that comes with that, I think it’s annoying/amusing and that he’ll grow out of this fake ‘street’ phase.

DH on the other hand thinks that he’s dressing. like a drug dealer and we should go buy him some Boden or something.

Drug dealing is not 'working class'.

Drug dealing is by its very nature the criminal classes and usually but not exclusively the underclass.

Usually men, usually youngish. I dont think its usually one ethnicity or not but dont know the stats on that.

This uniform and language is not to be found exclusively or even mostly on young black men these days. The language may have originated from the islands, but it's now well and truly entrenched across the races in the UK (black, white, brown - everyone).

Dd is 14. A year ago, she didn’t stop talking about ‘Roadmen’. She’s now gone quiet. As long as your ds isn’t hanging around with a ghetto blaster stinking of dope, he’ll be fine. It’s a phase. It will pass.

Fam etc is teen speak and just a phase. My eldest did the same and definitely doesn't do that talk anymore.
Your DH should pop to the park and see the teen groups then he'll get they all do it. Different generation! But the teen phase is just that and they grow out of it.
