DP and are are getting married in 10 days. Only us and 2 witnesses, not told anyone else. The registry office have just informed us that the music needs to be on a cd. We have the three songs but on our phone. Neither of us have a CD rewriter and even if we did we can't seem to purchase the audio file of the songs anywhere. We have posted on local Facebook groups etc to ask if anyone can do it but with no luck and now we are desperate. Does anyone know where e can get the following songs (random I know, but all mean one thing to us) put onto a CD?
Golden brown, The stranglers
Royals, Lordes
Shotgun, George Ezra

On top of the fact that the rail strike means one of the only 2 witnesses may not be able to make it, this has really pushed me over the edge today.

Can you not do it on a laptop anymore? I used to burn cd’s all the time just using windows media player.

Pinkpeony2 · 21/09/2022 19:16

You can buy all the MP3’s of those songs online. You will need someone with a CD player in their laptop or desk top to burn the songs on to CD

HappyHamsters · 21/09/2022 19:16

You should be able to downlowd each song and burn it to a disc on your computer. Congratulations and hope you have a wonderful day.

Soontobe60 · 21/09/2022 19:16

I’m surprised you’ll have time to play 3 songs when it’s such a small ceremony. My DD got married in a register office with 2 witnesses. No opportunity for any songs tbh!

Pinkpeony2 · 21/09/2022 19:16

Or buy the CD’s from Amazon / ebay with those songs on them (compilations or the albums)

Hyacinth2 · 21/09/2022 19:17

You could by the CDs online

Soontobe60 · 21/09/2022 19:17

Also, you’d get just as good a sound with a phone and a portable speaker. There will only be 5 people there.

ForfuckssakeEXHstopbeingatwat · 21/09/2022 19:17

Can you not just ask them if you can have it playing from.a Bluetooth speaker on your phone? If it's such a small wedding it doesn't need to be loud

Pinkpeony2 · 21/09/2022 19:17

Or download all 3 songs in mp3 format and send to a local PC repair shop or similar and ask if they can burn them onto a blank CD if you don’t have a CD burner in your laptop

gogohmm · 21/09/2022 19:18

If you or anyone you know has a normal desktop pc you should still have a CD burner, mine at work does but I'm away at the moment otherwise I could do it for you.

Pinkpeony2 · 21/09/2022 19:19

Oh yes just seen how small the wedding is. Just get a Bluetooth speaker and play from your phone via that

namechange30455 · 21/09/2022 19:19

What format do you have the songs in on your phone? Do you mean you have them through a streaming service like Spotify or do you have the actual files?

KiraKiraHikaru · 21/09/2022 19:19

Bring your own speaker is probably the easiest!

Willbe2under2 · 21/09/2022 19:19

Does it really have to be on cd, or is that just what they provide? Can't you or one of your witnesses just download them onto a phone and play them from there (or via a bluetooth speaker?)

InstaHun88 · 21/09/2022 19:20

How ancient, sounds ridiculous. However you can buy a CD burner off amazon for less than £20.

purplethings · 21/09/2022 19:24

Just take your phone and a portable Bluetooth speaker and get one of your witnesses to manage it.

RetreatRetreatRetreat · 21/09/2022 19:25

They won't allow it on any other format!! It's ridiculous. I have 3 laptops but none of them have CD drives, they just don't sell them with them anymore. I have all the songs on Apple Music, one on CD and one on MP3 but I can't seem to get MP3 downloads of them all, and even if I can I can't get them written onto a CD.

The registry office have said we need one to come in to, one to sign the register to, an one to leave to. And to be honest we want them.

RetreatRetreatRetreat · 21/09/2022 19:26

They want them all on one CD. You literally couldn't make it up!

We had this for our wedding.. twice!!
I downloaded the songs on iTunes for 99p each, bought a blank CD off Amazon or eBay (can't recall now) and bobbed it in my laptop to burn - set the tracks in order on a playlist in iTunes and you can right click (if using Windows which I have) and select to burn it
Of course, my husband was in charge of the CD and the total idiot forgot it so panicked, had to get his dad to take him on the motorbike to the local big Tesco's the morning of the wedding to buy blank CDs and burn another on his dad's computer.
As a backup I got my sister to bring a Bluetooth speaker, it was a covid wedding so only 10 guests and would have been fine but it was better with the CD

RetreatRetreatRetreat · 21/09/2022 19:27

Oh, and we have to get it all in by Friday...DP only jut agreed the final song!!

Just buy CDs of the three albums on Amazon.

ScrambledSmegs · 21/09/2022 19:28

Etsy? I'm sure I've seen people doing personalised playlists on CDs on there.

ScrambledSmegs · 21/09/2022 19:28

Ah. Sorry. Etsy might take too much time.
