I could just cry....music for registry office has to be on CD

DP and are are getting married in 10 days. Only us and 2 witnesses, not told anyone else. The registry office have just informed us that the music needs to be on a cd. We have the three songs but on our phone. Neither of us have a CD rewriter and even if we did we can't seem to purchase the audio file of the songs anywhere. We have posted on local Facebook groups etc to ask if anyone can do it but with no luck and now we are desperate. Does anyone know where e can get the following songs (random I know, but all mean one thing to us) put onto a CD?
Golden brown, The stranglers
Royals, Lordes
Shotgun, George Ezra

On top of the fact that the rail strike means one of the only 2 witnesses may not be able to make it, this has really pushed me over the edge today.

marcopront · 22/09/2022 15:24

Why are so many people convinced they know better than the registry office what the registry office can use.

macthekwife · 22/09/2022 16:18

Surely the songs exist on albums which you can find the albums on CD from ebay or amazon, then get them to change the CD?

Lincslady53 · 22/09/2022 16:54

It may be cd only to be sure you are not using an illegal download. We had this at my brothers funeral. So a cd you burn yourself may not be acceptable.

Island35 · 22/09/2022 18:29

Are you all sorted? Only just seen the post but can easily do this for you.

Jojojojojowhat · 22/09/2022 18:36

I used a website called MixPixie because my dad’s funeral needed the music on CD. Cost about £15 and there was the option for next day delivery too

allypally14 · 22/09/2022 18:36

We did this exact same thing last Friday. Just us and our 2 kids as witnesses. We had 3 songs on a playlist on my phone which they connected to their Bluetooth speaker.

Vynalbob · 22/09/2022 18:38

Friday... next week or tomorrow?

Goldencarp · 22/09/2022 18:40

You can buy a CD player that plugs into the laptop with a usb. I got them for my kids when their new laptops didn’t have CD players.

cherish123 · 22/09/2022 18:57

Buy the CDs,
use different songs or
Have no songs

I understand that you want them but it's not required for a CP. We had one last year. It was us, two witnesses, the registrar and our baby. No music, no ceremonial nonsense just literally signing a piece of paper.

Indeed. You don't "have" to have any music at all. The registry office wouldn't tell people they "needed" 3 songs!

Floweryflora · 22/09/2022 19:01

Op they will allow a little blue tooth speaker and phone.

Kamenakawena · 22/09/2022 19:16

I haven’t time to read the thread but if this isn’t sorted, message me and I’ll do it for you

Mollymoostoo · 22/09/2022 19:54

You know Golden Brown is about heroin right....?
But yeah, you can buy CD's online from HMV and try CEX if you are in the UK.

ellyeth · 22/09/2022 20:46

I do hope some of the suggestions on here can help.

You do know that Golden Brown is partly about drug taking don't you?

secretrugbyfan · 22/09/2022 20:57

Assuming you have access to a laptop and Amazon.

Buy an external CD player like this....

www.amazon.co.uk/External-Portable-Desktop-MacBook-Windows/dp/B09VGP5ZSF/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=AJBCPJF94FYS&keywords=external%2Bcd%2Bplayer&qid=1663876249&sprefix=external%2Bcd%2Bplayer%2Caps%2C93&sr=8-1-spons&th=1

Then buy CDs with your required tracks on and also buy some blank CDs.....

www.amazon.co.uk/Verbatim-43432-700MB-Extra-Protection/dp/B0006BC3DK/ref=sr_1_3?crid=1O8OAFDDRPGET&keywords=blank%2Bcds&qid=1663876376&sprefix=blank%2Bcds%2Caps%2C96&sr=8-3&th=1

Use the CD player to rip the music from the CDs (using Windows Media Player) which will give you your three required tracks as mp3s....

Then use one of your newly purchased blank CDs and burn (again using WMP) the three required tracks onto the CD (you can burn them in the order you want them too)

.......Enjoy your wedding with your music

CountessWindyBottom · 22/09/2022 21:25

I feel like I've just fallen into a thread from 1997. Who the hell uses CDs anymore and what's the reason for such a ridiculous request? I hope you get sorted and I hope you have a lovely wedding day 💕

wentworthinmate · 22/09/2022 21:57

Just buy or borrow a Bluetooth player.

Changenameobviousreasons · 22/09/2022 22:11

I'll PM you 😊 I'm in Kent, may be able to help

Meltingsocks · 22/09/2022 22:12

Goodness. I'd tell them to jog on. You're the client. Just stand up to them. Why do ppl accept this nonsense?

eastegg · 22/09/2022 22:16

Moveoverdarlin · 21/09/2022 20:05

The song shotgun at a wedding might raise a few eyebrows!!

Not many, have you seen how few people are attending?! About 6 eyebrows in total maybe!😂

eastegg · 22/09/2022 22:20

I’m sure OP knows GB is about heroin. And so what anyway? It’s references to religion you can’t have, not opiates. And there are no Aunty Marjories to offend as there are no guests, just witnesses. So seriously, so what?

ColeensBoot · 22/09/2022 22:25

Have you got it sorted? I live in Essex and have a Mac with a cd drive that can burn CDs.
Let me know if you need help
