To find Asda rewards annoying

Asda has a new rewards app! I wont be downloading but

When you go round the store you might see a price say on a tub of roses or celebrations for £1. Thats the price you pay if you have a reward not the normal price.

You have to look really hard to see what the normal price is and they are all over the store. At first glance you will think the tub is a pound, you know it cant be but its prominent and makes you think its a pound. So you have to search out the normal price!

Wish they would stop all these reward apps too its very discriminatory to people who dont have apps and who still spend money.

Sainsburys is best where you have a card if you want to join a loyalty scheme and fair to all.

OP posts:

Am I being unreasonable?

So it only shows 9p on the app as being in your cashpot?

Mine is at £28.87

InCheesusWeTrust · 03/10/2022 19:34

Easily possible..our normal shop rarely gets money. We get them from the challanges it seems. We don't shop the star products I guess

No my recent shop where I spent £110 rewarded me 9p Confused

dementedpixie · 03/10/2022 19:49

That's not where the real rewards are though. You save towards a cashpot on the app that you can convert to money off your shopping. Your 9p is just random money off for nothing. If I buy a small amount of goods then I usually get 1p off.

This is starting to piss me off, I got a 9p reward for spending £110 ???!!!

That's odd as you should get £1 milestone for using the app at least.
I'm at £34.50 after about 5 weeks!

RedHelenB · 04/10/2022 15:41

Did a shop , spent more than usual to get the milestone but it hasn't acknowledged the sound. And it wouldn't take the voucher I'd earned. Prefer co op.or Tesco tbh, or the old Morrison one.

That was me the other day - huge shop £125 and I got something like 16p!

I was also told it lines to your George account so I put a £60 order in for the Christmas jammies for the kids etc and didn't track!

LittleVille · 05/10/2022 14:27

Links, not lines

Mummyme87 · 05/10/2022 14:34

I didn’t know about this. I don’t really shop at Asda just call in every now and then, but might download the app now, thanks!

Thesearmsofmine · 05/10/2022 14:36

I’ve done 4 shops all around £80 and have £11.50 in my cash pot. That’s mostly from the missions as I don’t buy many of the star products unless it’s something I buy anyway.

The star products aren't that great either.

I need bisto, fab the 350g tub is a star product I can get £1 in my cash pot if I buy it but it costs £3.49 whereas the 550g tub costs £3.99 so in reality it's going to cost me more than the £1 I'd get in my cash pot to then have to buy another bisto sooner than if I just pay the 50p extra now & buy the bigger one.

Also a lot of the star products are alcohol/snack/junk/convenience foods that I'm not buying regularly.

As I'm not loyal to one supermarket I'm just going to look at it the same way I look at my Clubcard points - a wee £5 off every now & again but not something I'd count on as a great savings tool.

Covgal22 · 11/10/2022 15:13

Would rather have a card. Forgot phone on one occasion £70 spend. Phone battery died on 2nd occasion £120 spend. Infuriating.

StiltonCracker · 11/10/2022 15:53

The talk of missions puts me off, I'm doing the family shop not joining MI5.

Tesco is annoying too, scan your card to get things at the offer price other supermarkets just give you.

Beepbeepenergy · 11/10/2022 16:43

I just spent my cash pot I had £60 so did a £65 shop and paid just £5 :) happy bunny here
start again now I’m at 1:45p :)

katscamel · 11/10/2022 18:47

I was quite impressed when I saw this as thought it'd be useful for my parents but.... of course they don't have smart phones...and very unlikely to get one as generally have no need.
Both late 70s ... dont do online banking, little use of the Internet, have loyalty cards for other supermarkets etc.
Forking out ££s just to use the app.... really can't see that happening.

RedBullRacingReserveDriver · 26/10/2022 12:53

Is anyone else having issues with the app not updating after a shop? That's 3 times now I've done a £100+ shop, clearly going to reach a milestone but the shop doesn't register!!

I've emailed customer services TWICE and they have ignored me.

Yes after the initial couple of shops I've not earned anything. I'd bought star products too. Should have had several extra pounds by now. Back to Tesco I go 😆

RedBullRacingReserveDriver · 26/10/2022 16:52

@liveforsummer I phoned customer services and got cut off twice but third time I got it sorted. They worked out what I should have been due in rewards and credited to my cash pot.

They said it's an issue and they are working on it

Zuve · 09/11/2022 20:19

Yes, I have the app and got £20 now. Its good and links to our home delivery etc.

COL1N · 10/11/2022 20:11

10% cashpot on all the Little Angels nappies & wipes started today!

EatYourVegetables · 10/11/2022 20:15

“Discriminatory”? I don’t think this word means what you think it means.

00100001 · 10/11/2022 20:18

Couldn't care less about the people who won't/can't get the app.

it's hardly essentials they're doing it on. You can't save £1 on a random box of chocolates..who fucking cares?

My mother is 78 and uses a smart phone just fine - hers is better than mine!

Why are they being such luddites?

dementedpixie · 10/11/2022 20:23

My late 70s mother also has a smart phone and uses social media, watches videos on it, etc
