To find Asda rewards annoying

girlfriend44 · 04/09/2022 14:27

Asda has a new rewards app! I wont be downloading but

When you go round the store you might see a price say on a tub of roses or celebrations for £1. Thats the price you pay if you have a reward not the normal price.

You have to look really hard to see what the normal price is and they are all over the store. At first glance you will think the tub is a pound, you know it cant be but its prominent and makes you think its a pound. So you have to search out the normal price!

Wish they would stop all these reward apps too its very discriminatory to people who dont have apps and who still spend money.

Sainsburys is best where you have a card if you want to join a loyalty scheme and fair to all.

Am I being unreasonable?

OMG I was on holiday in Spain and I went into a supermarket and I didn't have their app and missed out on discounts and offers. HOW DISCRIMINATORY. 😂

Come on OP. You've pivoted from "it's not fair I don't like it" to "it's not about me, i'm just concerned about all these other people".

economicervix · 04/09/2022 15:22

OP has a phone with internet, so is just wittering nonsense out of boredom, presumably. Here are his/her very own words on a different boring thread:

‘Does anyone else find they can't always get online on their phone?
I find it alot recently. I'm with the operator that claims to have the best coverage. I'm not sure it's to do with that though?
Isn't it down to how many people are using the Internet at the same time?
Can someone explain whether this is normal.
Frustrating at times’

girlmom21 · 04/09/2022 15:24

There are quite a few people who have doro basic phones for phone and texting only.

Won't somebody think of the drug dealers?!

MomwasCasual · 04/09/2022 15:24

No comment on how you completely misunderstood how the Reward works then OP?

I like it personally, after a few of my usual online shops I checked and saw that I'm building quite a nice pot

Morph22010 · 04/09/2022 15:24

How much are people spending to have got such a high cash pot ready, I thought I was doing ok with £4.50

economicervix · 04/09/2022 15:24

That’s their choice, OP. 😂

itsgettingweird · 04/09/2022 15:27

Wish they would stop all these reward apps too its very discriminatory to people who dont have apps and who still spend money.

Well it's only discriminatory if they don't allow the freedom for everyone to have an app.

Deciding not to have it is yours under freedom of choice!

The rest I agree with. It's really hard to work out.

I do Asda online shop as have the monthly pass (£6) and also go to farm foods once a month for cans of fizzy/ frozen veg and roast joints as that's really good value.

If you go on the app you will see products you can get extra rewards on or missions that earn you more e.g. buying fruit and veg or cleaning products, etc

Oysterbabe · 04/09/2022 14:33

What do you have against getting the app? I have a Tesco credit and club card because I like paying less for things.

I took 4 adults to a theme park for £6 entry purely for using Tesco when it's convenient to do so. I don't even do my main shop there!

giveovernate · 04/09/2022 15:32

@girlfriend44 people that don't have the app do not benefit from the points, they are not being discriminated against, it's their choice to either not have a smart phone or not down load the app.

Using the term discrimination is really down valuing real discrimination.

Your term is totally out of order.

Lovely!
Ours has bought us many a free meal at Pizza Express.

JellyBeanFactory · 04/09/2022 15:33

Downloaded the app, liked it to my online shopping account and thought no more of it and did my weekly online click + collect. After seeing this thread, I opened the app and I have £9 in my pot already - after one shop!! Going to like this one Grin

sweeneytoddsrazor · 04/09/2022 15:37

The offer is available to everybody. Its their choice if they take the various steps needed to make use of the offer. Nothing discriminatory in that.

Fififelix · 04/09/2022 15:38

Just looked at the Asda rewards and it's so much better than Tesco clubcard. The pricing is the same if you forget your card or phone you just get the money added to your pot. I like Sainsbury's scheme better than Tesco as well..

That's genius!

It’s a waste of plastic for every single person registered to get a card whether they want it or not. I always have my phone with my and would prefer to scan a barcode on that rather than have a wallet bogged down with loyalty cards.

Your reward card is on the app? Same with nectar points and tesco

ButteredJorts · 04/09/2022 15:47

This thread has got me thinking I might have to change where I shop, so thanks OP! (and btw it's totally not discrimination)
Have a nectar card, and the Lidl app, but Sainsburys is expensive even with the money off and the Lidl loyalty offers are now really shit.

2 questions....
How long does the cashpot last, is there a time limit or do you have to use it in a time frame?

Do the cashback items relate to things that you regularly buy, or is it random?

giveovernate · 04/09/2022 15:50

Anyway I've just downloaded the app! Thanks OP.

Do you always stalk peoples threads?

it still dosent change anything people who cant get online or dont want to dont get the same money off as others even though they spend the same or more.

What judge are you to say whether threads are boring or not you cant be that bored or you wouldnt be reading it.

KassandraOfSparta · 04/09/2022 15:52

My rewards in the asda app are:

£1 when you buy 3 x Kellogg's cereals
£1 when you buy 2 x packs of Cornettos
£1 when you spend £6 on cleaning products
£1 when you buy 15 x fruit/veg items
£2 when you spend £25 on meat fish and poultry
50p when you spend £5 on sandwich fillers

Plus 564 "star products" which give 10% of the purchase price, everything from fudge to chicken steaks. Own brand not just branded. Plus the standard milestones on total spend.

You have 6 months to spend your rewards from the date of earning them.

Polkadotties · 04/09/2022 15:54

OP is being obtuse as it was pointed out she can’t read a very easy to read sign and now feels like an idiot

not at all.

OP posts:
giveovernate · 04/09/2022 15:58

@girlmom21 again people who don't want a ne tar card or a club card don't get the same rewards!

You're like a stuck record!

You've got a smart phone, so you don't want to use the app then don't!

No one is obliged to accept the rewards that supermarkets offer, it's a free choice!

You've chosen not too (god knows why not as you've got a smart phone, but it's your choice), all the more rewards for the rest of us!

sweeneytoddsrazor · 04/09/2022 15:59

You have 6 months to spend your rewards from the date of earning them.

I am not sure that is correct. You have 6 months to convert them from your cashpot to a voucher but not sure if you have longer to spend the voucher

Gr33ngr33ngr4ss · 04/09/2022 15:59

OP you've done some reaching to find offence in this!
