Lazy river ownership

Currently on holiday exploring the pool area.

We decided to go for an adventure, we adventured (my wife and I) to the private villas (swim up), we then adventured back (on a nice floaty).

On the way back we heard a comment from a private villa occupant that the adventure path was reserved for private villa occupants. No signage to say can't go down it and we were quiet, just wanted to see what was up that part of the pool.

Being my good self I wholeheartedly intend to adventure there again. AIBU, I most definitely think so.

Perhaps you missed a sign but if it definitely is open to all then crack on. Check with the staff?

Meraas · 29/08/2022 11:18

Crack on, I say, if there is no signage.

SavoirFlair · 29/08/2022 11:19

What has the staff said to you about where you can go, @Hollibobs123 ??

Have you actually spoken to them?

Or are you teeing this thread up so we can hear your tales of rebellious daring as you float up a river that’s for private villas only?

SummaLuvin · 29/08/2022 11:22

Not sure about the rights and wrongs of using that part of the pool, check with staff maybe as I think swim up villas are typically private.

However, the writing style you have used makes you sound utterly unbearable so you probably are being unreasonable.

MarinoRoyale · 29/08/2022 11:24

Surely the mature thing to do is to check with the hotel staff? But in my experience, they’re private and the people staying there have paid for the privilege and probably don’t appreciate other guests treating them as a communal area.

Hollibobs123 · 29/08/2022 11:25

:) adventure path is most certainly public.

I'm a little bit like a roomba on holiday, I like to map out the edges.

Angry (passively) villa resident was certainly vocal once we were "out" of earshot.

I can't wait to revisit the adventure path

What are you on about.

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 29/08/2022 11:25

Yabu to talk about lazy rivers while I'm sitting in a hospital waiting room slowly roasting to death, if the hideous daytime television beside my head doesn't kill me first. I'd give my (possibly broken) left foot to be in a lazy river.

If you have already made your decision then what are you asking

KangarooKenny · 29/08/2022 11:26

Make sure you give them ‘the bird’ as you pass by 😉

QuebecBagnet · 29/08/2022 11:27

Hard to say as we don’t know your hotel rules 🤷‍♀️ But if no signs you’re probably ok.

Antarcticant · 29/08/2022 11:29

Top 'Hollibobs' tip for you: Rather than write an unbearably twee post on MN about your dilemma, simply ask the staff at your hotel. Grin

Theimpossiblegirl · 29/08/2022 11:30

As long as you don't go up the steps to their balcony or get a beer from their mini bar I'm sure it's fine. How do they know you're not also in a villa?

bloodyunicorns · 29/08/2022 11:30

Well, if your idea of fun on holiday is winding other people up, then I pity your partner.

MarmadukeSpillageEsquire · 29/08/2022 11:32

YABU for use of "Hollibobs", which automatically invalidates anything you post.

GlueyMooey · 29/08/2022 11:32

Weird post - just ask the staff or ignore or whatever.... it doesn't matter. Enjoy your holiday but forget the twee posts. I really hope you haven't posted this on your inst/tick-tock or wherever

badbaduncle · 29/08/2022 11:34

This is why I would never stay in a resort, there is no privacy anywhere, ever.

Wishyouwerehere30 · 29/08/2022 11:36

The most tragic post I've ever read on MN 😂

TooMuchToDoTooLittleInclination · 29/08/2022 11:38

What time did they start serving the (nasty)! 'Free' booze?

TooMuchToDoTooLittleInclination · 29/08/2022 11:39

Oh & it's a very disappointing thread, didn't live up to the title At All.

0/10

Blowthemandown · 29/08/2022 11:40

@Hollibobs123 if it’s public, go for it. Next time with a big sign saying ‘did you know this bit is public?’ angled at the bloke, while you grin like a loon as you float past 😬

Wonnle · 29/08/2022 11:41

What is a Lazy river anyway

SunnyD44 · 29/08/2022 11:41

If it’s public then spend as much time there as you want to.

Sounds like they paid for a private villa and are annoyed that the peasants are ruining their view 😁

economicervix · 29/08/2022 11:42

Why do you write so weirdly? Do you think you're funny? [Cringe]

economicervix · 29/08/2022 11:43

It's for adventuring, as a verb. 🤢
