Lazy river ownership

Currently on holiday exploring the pool area.

We decided to go for an adventure, we adventured (my wife and I) to the private villas (swim up), we then adventured back (on a nice floaty).

On the way back we heard a comment from a private villa occupant that the adventure path was reserved for private villa occupants. No signage to say can't go down it and we were quiet, just wanted to see what was up that part of the pool.

Being my good self I wholeheartedly intend to adventure there again. AIBU, I most definitely think so.

Your over-use of the word ‘adventure’ makes me hope your “floaty” gets a hole in it, if I’m being perfectly honest. And that’s without me really having a clue what kind of Enid Blyton jolly good outing you reckon you’re having.

100problems · 29/08/2022 16:28

Super cringe. Floating reaaallly slowly past all the expensive rooms prone on a rubber donut.

:) adventure path is most certainly public.

I'm a little bit like a roomba on holiday, I like to map out the edges.

Angry (passively) villa resident was certainly vocal once we were "out" of earshot.

I can't wait to revisit the adventure path

Why don’t you book one of the villas if you are that interested!

QuebecBagnet · 29/08/2022 16:34

Friend of mine had a roomba, the dog did a shit in the middle of the room and the roomba went straight through it and spread it round the house! 😱

HappyDays40 · 29/08/2022 16:44

If you are in the UK they can only own he river bank and access to his not the actual section of river itself. I'd swim up it just to pass them off, entitled twunts.

Does anyone wonder whose 13 yr old it is starting threads to take the piss out of their mum's mumsnetting?

I bloody hope it's not mine or I'll be having words with his English teacher.

Sounds edgy to me.

Sounds like this is an all inclusive holiday and the OP has been taking full advantage of this since breakfast!!

If you talk like you type YAB 100% U.

Getting distinct Steve Buscemi in 30 rock vibes from the OP.

Imagine being stuck in a resort with people who are to busy adventuring to realise they are just annoying

Im exhausted from all the adventures. I’d need a rest by the pool…

kateandme · 29/08/2022 23:03

I thought I wouldn’t be right for this thread because I clearly won’t relate to owning a river! But then thought ooh could it relate to centre parks lazy river.ha. Nope.
I’ve never heard of these things and had to do some extensive googling.still didn’t find any with villas though just “relaxing nooks along the lazy river to cuddle in the greenery “ on some😉.

Where I come from, the only adventurous thing about a 'floaty' in a pool is when you paddle frantically to try and stop it 'floating' into your mouth...

Hollibobs123 · 30/08/2022 08:25

Morning all,

I can confirm the adventure path is now just a pool with a number of lazy rivers. We do like an explore an the entire perimeter has been scouted and logged.

Best way to imagine the villa river is a tributary that leads to a dead end, a cul de sac of sorts. I guess the AIBU is akin to walking ones dog around a cul de sac in a super posh area, it's a toughie and clearly niggled said villa resident.

Will we have the courage to adventure to the villa of doom....will we floaty on by.....only time will tell.

Its more akin to walking up their garden path to their front door. And not it’s not a ‘toughie’, it’s a dick move.

RudsyFarmer · 30/08/2022 08:36

I’m too much of a peasant to know what the OP is even about.

If the hotel doesn't restrict use of those particular tributaries, then I think you should feel free to explore the hotel grounds and pool area since you are a guest. I assume that you are not doing anything offensive, or going into the villa's private boundaries, so enjoy your little adventure and your holiday.

MarmadukeSpillageEsquire · 30/08/2022 13:44

#AccidentalPartridge

Don't pierce your foot on a spike if you try to scale that perimeter!

It's like trampling on their gardens
