Lazy river ownership

Hollibobs123 · 29/08/2022 11:08

Currently on holiday exploring the pool area.

We decided to go for an adventure, we adventured (my wife and I) to the private villas (swim up), we then adventured back (on a nice floaty).

On the way back we heard a comment from a private villa occupant that the adventure path was reserved for private villa occupants. No signage to say can't go down it and we were quiet, just wanted to see what was up that part of the pool.

Being my good self I wholeheartedly intend to adventure there again. AIBU, I most definitely think so.

What is a Lazy river anyway

It's a river that goes all round the resort, with a current so you can just float round and round, if that's your thing.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 29/08/2022 11:45

Just be careful when adventuring with a skinful of mimosas 🍹

Christ, the human roomba 😆😆

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 29/08/2022 11:46

Is this a 'Famous Five' themed hotel?

Is it Uncle Quentin who is being irritable about you aventuring up the Lazy River?

Are you on glue?

OP top tip -

Posting something that other MNers will be jealous of (eg holiday) will always get you snarky comments.

You’ve also made the mistake of saying your DW, so posters may assume you’re a man.
Again something else that will get you snarky comments.

Ignore them.

Cherchezlaspice · 29/08/2022 11:51

I’ve now read the word ‘adventure’ do many times that it has lost all meaning.

I’m finding OP spectacularly irritating, but I’m not even sure why.

girlmom21 · 29/08/2022 11:52

Swim up rooms are for private use. Don't be a dick.

bringbackveronicamars · 29/08/2022 11:58

Not really an 'adventure' though, is it ,,, you swam and floated in a man-made pool next to some hotel cabins. 🙄

So hardly the Congo then. OP really lives life on the edge!

Well, you never know, they might find dead spiders or a crisp packet or a turd floating in the river to up the 'adventuresomeness' of it all!

WhenISnappedAndFarted · 29/08/2022 12:03

@Wonnle I'm glad it wasn't just me that didn't have a clue!

Womblealongwithme · 29/08/2022 12:04

Um ... OK then ...

This.

People pay a premium for privacy, it’s not for joe public to use.

😂 it's 2022. I don't think anyone would just 'assume' the OP is a man.

Chikapu · 29/08/2022 12:10

Unless you're a Hobbit you aren't really going on an adventure, you're just on holiday.

JubileeTissues · 29/08/2022 12:11

Floaty? Envy

InsertPunHere · 29/08/2022 12:13

So you’re accessing the swim-up private villas pools, and are surprised someone objected to the hoi polloi gatecrashing what they paid a premium to have?

You’re a CF.

Yeah we're homophobic, it's not that the OP's tone is spectacularly annoying.

viques · 29/08/2022 12:22

Adventure ! Can hardly wait for the update, do come back and update when you have wrestled with the crocodiles and rescued a small puppy from piranhas. And if you can take a couple of pictures of the anacondas it would be great.

balalake · 29/08/2022 12:23

I think the people concerned should have spoken to you directly, as if there were no signs you could have been ignorant (I doubt it though, but that's not the point).

MarmadukeSpillageEsquire · 29/08/2022 11:32

YABU for use of "Hollibobs", which automatically invalidates anything you post.

Indeed.

Come back at Crimbo and tell us what you and Wifey are up to then.

viques · 29/08/2022 12:26

Or you could have a real adventure and step outside the cocoon of your hotel and meet local people who live there, eat some local food, try saying hello in the local language.

No. Snarky comments are because the op doesn’t make much sense.
