LittleOwl153 · 19/08/2022 15:19

Just that....

I'm sitting waiting for my 1-2pm delivery which hasn't turned up so I ring the call centre.

Due to technical difficulties they have cancelled ALL ORDERS NATIONALLY after 1pm today
(I assume tomorrow is ok?)

No call, no email, nothing....

Just thought I'd share so noone is dinner less tonight!

Is this Wales aswell? I've had such a shitty week and only had the mental energy to order my shopping yesterday and now its not coming 😭😭 I could have picked up more bits in the shop today but left it because knew I had one coming

WhiteFire · 19/08/2022 18:11

I've just managed to change my password on the app.

TinaWeymouthsBass · 19/08/2022 18:11

This happened to me a few months ago, I complained to the store where the order is picked directly and they swapped me to click and collect ( I know not everyone has transport) gave me £20 off my next shop and 5 free deliveries, so I forgave them and they have been fine since.

GypsyWanderer · 19/08/2022 18:14

It would be useful if people added their area to their posts because this isn’t national I doubt.

I’m in Norfolk and have a delivery scheduled for tomorrow morning. I’ve managed to go in and add items and received a text saying my delivery is due tomorrow.

@KTyoupigeon appreciated. But most people didn't starve to death before online delivery services. Everyone has just got so lazy.

I have a life-threatening condition but can still manage to get in my car and drive to the local supermarket. Woo! Go me.

Yes woo go you. Some people have life threatening conditions which means they are not ABLE to get in a car. And before online delivery would have made other arrangements to get their shopping. That's whats annoying

CoconutSky · 19/08/2022 18:18

Mine was 8am-12pm and they’d cancelled that as well, tomorrows gonna be chaotic with all the deliveries

Lucinda7 · 19/08/2022 18:18

My order comes from Tesco, Warndon, Worcester. It arrived at 13.40. Sorry for those whose orders were cancelled.

MyNameIsAngelicaSchuyler · 19/08/2022 18:22

And even if you don’t have life threatening conditions / injuries sometimes you just plan your week around these deliveries, and that’s fine! FFS.

FlaccidCornFlake · 19/08/2022 18:22

I am so glad i'm about to switch from Tesco. Trying to find somewhere who delivers fruit and veg that hasn't basically already gone off or goes off the next day.

geraniumthefirst · 19/08/2022 18:26

I'm in London, and it's just come up with a time on app for my delivery this evening between 7-8. Can I cross my fingers and pray that I will get it?

For those who say, just got to the shops you lazy sod, I am a single parent so can't exactly drag small child out round the shops this evening, and we are literally on the dregs of the cupboards!

Echobelly · 19/08/2022 18:27

YANBU - I think Tesco is having some serious staffing issues between holiday and illness at the moment, it seems. Our local store has barely any tills open so you might spend 20 mins shopping then half an hour in the queue and I didn't know if this was just a decision not to open tills, but DH spoke to someone there and they said it was holiday and illness. But I do think it is a degree of understaffing as well though, they shouldn't be that knocked out by it.

OldFan · 19/08/2022 18:35

Thanks for letting us know this OP. Saves us waiting for the bloke.

Lockheart · 19/08/2022 18:38

Of course you could if you need to. It might not be convenient but it's doable.

I had this a few months ago, when their software broke down. They claimed that the new system meant that all the orders were packed and ready to go but the paperwork did not have any names on, so without the order details they could not deliver them or call the people to say there was a problem as they did not have any customer details. I had to call them initially to find out why it hadn't been delivered. They said it would be delivered later. It wasn't. I rang up around 4 times by 5pm for a 10am delivery as they kept saying they would update me in a couple of hours then didn't. In the end the woman on the phone said, well this was cancelled this morning, didn't they tell you that..............

no they didn't.... I received a £10 voucher for that one.

I pointed out to her what a shocking system it was if they were not able to identify their customers from the information that they did have.

A few weeks later a van broke down. I had to ring up when they hadn't contacted me around 2 hours after the time slot. They then said that they would try and get a van to me, but it never happened and again they didn't keep me updated on whether or not I would actually receive my shopping. I didn't even know whether to try and order through another brand for the following day.

Their current delivery invoices are a nightmare, you cannot clearly see what you have been charged and if you try and add them up, you cannot agree to the totals. Apparently there are loads of complaints and the staff can't even understand them.

RippleQueen · 19/08/2022 18:44

That's strange. I received my Tesco order today which was due 1-5pm and it arrived at 2.30pm

Hidingawaytoday · 19/08/2022 18:45

Is anyone else getting tesco adverts while scrolling through this thread? 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Hope everyone's shopping gets sorted.

TESCO CANCELLED all orders after 1pm today...
joangray38 · 19/08/2022 18:52

It’s not only Tesco having problems today - lords and Labradors website had a power cut this morning and couldn’t access orders etc.

Trumpton · 19/08/2022 18:53

Mine arrived bang on 3pm for a 3-5 slot.
hoping other people get theirs.
I have to book at midnight 4 weeks in advance to even hope to get a slot!

geraniumthefirst · 19/08/2022 18:57

@Lockheart what, when we've only just got home, having been out all day, child needs feeding/bathing and is totally knackered? Yeah ok. I'll have to go tomorrow if it doesn't arrive.

ILikeYouToo · 19/08/2022 18:58

As a lot of other people have said, I ended up cancelling my delivery saver with them because this kept happening. I had three orders not turn up, sometimes they told me sometimes they didn't - the customer service wasn't great. Then you couldn't rebook another slot for days. And always lots of substitutions. They were really unhelpful when I tried very nicely to ask if there were short term issues and might it improve - so I asked them to cancel my pass.
I've used Morrisons since (5 months) and never had an issue. Always deliver, rarely any missing items and I can get a slot next day, rather than the two weeks until the next available Tesco one I was experiencing!

Of course. None of those are insurmountable barriers to going to the shops if you absolutely needed to.

geraniumthefirst · 19/08/2022 19:04

@Lockheart I am guessing you are not an exhausted single parent.

But just, for a minute, consider you had a different life threatening illness/injury, terminal illness or broken, replaced shoulder... or heaven forbid don't drive and it's too far to walk....

you could go, great, doesn't mean everyone can FFS

QuestionableMouse · 19/08/2022 19:13

I had a 11-12 slot so feel very lucky that it arrived!

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 19/08/2022 19:14

@Lockheart

I was raised by a single parent after my dad died. And she managed to teach us how to go and buy food from the local shop.
