LittleOwl153 · 19/08/2022 15:19

Just that....

I'm sitting waiting for my 1-2pm delivery which hasn't turned up so I ring the call centre.

Due to technical difficulties they have cancelled ALL ORDERS NATIONALLY after 1pm today
(I assume tomorrow is ok?)

No call, no email, nothing....

Just thought I'd share so noone is dinner less tonight!

Interesting. I was in tescos happily munching lunch with ds at about that time and my scanner, and everyone else's in the store crashed. At about 1pm. Seems like "technical difficulties " is an understatement.

KatherineJaneway · 19/08/2022 17:09

They did similar to me recently. Order due, had two updates saying order would be late but never turned up. Called the next day they said delivered between 1pm and 9pm, no updates no delivery. Finally put a new date in and delivered. They sent me vouchers but it was still annoying.

StarlightLady · 19/08/2022 17:10

@fufflecake - Then they need a back up system, showing at least emails and phone numbers.

wizbit93 · 19/08/2022 17:13

We're on holiday. Arrived at 3pm and have booked a 4-5pm slot. It's the first ever time I have arranged a delivery, we usually take everything with us. We have no food, other than a bottle of ketchup! I haven't had an email and my account is stuck on 'preparing your order'. No money has left my account. Guessing we need to go out and find somewhere!

Like what? Paper?

FizzyStream · 19/08/2022 17:14

I've recently in the last 2-3 months had two cancelled Tesco orders right at the last minute. Won't use them now for delivery or click and collect. Don't trust them.

I was told that orders due between 1pm and 6pm hadn't reached the store. So nothing had been picked. Guessing not all stores affected though

KTyoupigeon · 19/08/2022 17:21

@GreenFingersWouldBeHandy NOT everyone can!!

Sunflower987 · 19/08/2022 17:23

They cancelled on me on the day a while ago, I haven't used them since.

Airbnbdisaster · 19/08/2022 17:24

We have got ours as normal

GreenFingersWouldBeHandy · 19/08/2022 17:26

@KTyoupigeon appreciated. But most people didn't starve to death before online delivery services. Everyone has just got so lazy.

I have a life-threatening condition but can still manage to get in my car and drive to the local supermarket. Woo! Go me.

Twinklystar52 · 19/08/2022 17:27

Mine has just been delivered too . Driver did say that we were lucky.

shinynewapple22 · 19/08/2022 17:27

@stayathomegardener what exactly are post Covid paperbacks?

Dontstoprunning · 19/08/2022 17:30

I had a call from a mobile number at 12.39pm and it was the lady at my local tescos saying that due to a glitch they can't process any online orders and that I could be waiting or not even get a notification at all from tesco about it so she was calling all of the customers who's details she could see to let us know. She couldn't apologise enough.

Foetunately I was able to go and get my own shop but some people obviously can't, hopefully tesco sort it out.

Threeboysandadog · 19/08/2022 17:31

Mine has been cancelled. We won’t starve but there’s nothing “nice”!

Whitewolf2 · 19/08/2022 17:32

Just got my email cancelling my 8-9pm delivery date today. Very annoying, usually use Ocado but wanted to try to save some money…

stayathomegardener · 19/08/2022 17:34

@shinynewapple22 I'm wiped out post Covid and added some light reading to the shop.

Seemed very decadent, never normally buy books from Tesco

Anon778833 · 19/08/2022 17:37

My mum had her Tesco shop delivered today at 2.30pm, so it can’t be nationally can it??!!

GG1986 · 19/08/2022 17:39

I am south west and just had a text saying my order is due to be delivered tomorrow, do I want to add something?

hotfroth · 19/08/2022 17:52

gatehouseoffleet · 19/08/2022 15:48

This is so annoying. Why do companies do this? If you know there's a problem, admit there's a problem and don't pretend!

If it's a massive cyber attack / ransomware etc, they might not be in a position to say anything at the moment. If you get my drift.

Meklk · 19/08/2022 18:03

I'll never believe it's problem with system or other shit, they probably short of staff. Very short. I had the same experience with Iceland couple of weeks ago, my PAID online order just disappeared, I had to chase for refund.

BigChesterDraws · 19/08/2022 18:07

It is strange that the systems are down in a way that they can’t send an email but they can still access all of the orders and the contact details to make phone calls.

WhiteFire · 19/08/2022 18:09

That's not good. I do online all the time, including for holidays. I do one for my parents who don't drive and the only shop immediately available is a co-op so ££. Tesco just didn't turn up with it one year, luckily they managed to get a very basic shop and I managed to get a slot for the next day.

I am back from holiday today, so have a shop booked, I'd be very fed up if it was with Tesco, so everyone has my sympathies.

It might be worth changing log in details (if the website is working though)

frugalkitty · 19/08/2022 18:09

The system that prints the barcodes for the dot com shoppers went down at half eight this morning, which means the shopping couldn't be picked or loaded onto the vans. So any orders picked before then would have got out, but after then the pickers couldn't pick anything so all vans got cancelled.
