Just that....

I'm sitting waiting for my 1-2pm delivery which hasn't turned up so I ring the call centre.

Due to technical difficulties they have cancelled ALL ORDERS NATIONALLY after 1pm today
(I assume tomorrow is ok?)

No call, no email, nothing....

Just thought I'd share so noone is dinner less tonight!

If they’re being really cagey about it it could easily be a hack or ransom demand. Companies are advised not to publicise while it’s being investigated.

VinnieVanLowe · 19/08/2022 16:14

Not all orders have been cancelled. my 3-4 delivery came.

RIPWalter · 19/08/2022 16:15

Just had a look at my account for Tuesdays order, it says "Payment Method - Pay online securely" same as all previous orders, even though DH has had a notification that the payment was rejected, but then it says £4.50 Pick, pack, deliver which it shouldn't as we are on the Delivery saver scheme (and just says 0 for all other previous orders), so multiple errors going on with their system.

That was my thought. And why they probably can't email customers even if they wanted to.

Weirdly the self scan fills in my local one were down on Wed, never know it before - we're all DOOMED! Confused

I've had it with Tesco. This is one of numerous issues I have had with them recently. I've stuck with them as I live out in the sticks and not every supermarket delivers here but I'm going to see who else I can try.
I did get an email but that pissed me off even more because it said " We hope this has not caused any inconvenience". I could have accepted "We apologise for the inconvenience" but seriously, how could having your weekend food delivery cancelled at no notice NOT be inconvenient? I live a long way from shops and have a disability so not getting my delivery is hugely inconvenient but I can't imagine anyone being exactly pleased about the situation, and they can't even manage a proper apology.
I have tweeted and their response was to suggest that I book another available slot. Well it's not like I wanted to eat before Sunday so sure, that's a great idea. And don't worry, you haven't been charged for this order. Oh, well that's ok then.

boniday · 19/08/2022 16:20

Hmm, just to say not all orders are affected, my 4-5 just arrived dot on 4

TheWayTheLightFalls · 19/08/2022 16:21

Argh. What a nightmare for their supply chain too - an unexpected day’s worth of food sitting in various depots, knock-on effects with use by dates etc. I doubt it’s a priority just now but I hope someone is on the phone to FareShare or similar.

SiobhanSharpe · 19/08/2022 16:24

I had similar with Tesco one Christmas a couple of years ago.
My order was late so I phoned CS to ask about it and they told me it had been cancelled. No email, text or call to let me know.
There had been a light, really light dusting of snow earlier that morning so they said it was due to weather. I live in a village with good road access and the order was coming from the nearest town , 10 minutes away, which also has good roads that are regularly gritted. The snow hadn't settled anyway! The temperature was above freezing.
Traffic was absolutely normal.
Now I appreciate something had gone wrong or more likely someone had fucked up but what really got my goat was that they seemed to think i was unreasonable in expecting some warning or notification (and apology) they had cancelled my order in Christmas week. Wankers.

stayathomegardener · 19/08/2022 16:24

A delivery arrived at 2pm but it wasn't mine.

Super fed up driver said I could keep it if I wanted to but there was almost nothing we'd ordinarily eat.

Mine had post Covid paperbacks and wine. Wails!!

Apparently all the computers are down and this has already cost them £80k this week.
No email but no money taken either, rescheduled optimistically for tomorrow evening.

WeAllHaveWings · 19/08/2022 16:25

Mine arrived 20 mins ago on time......

PostThenGhost · 19/08/2022 16:25

We had this with Asda last week. We were annoyed we weren’t even called to be told. The ‘helpline’ simply said they had had a power cut and so were unable to access the orders so didn’t know who to contact!

We booked a slot for the next day, got all our shopping and the driver said it’s carnage in store and they are so understaffed. He didn’t even mention a power cut (pretty sure they have a substation as they have so many fridges/freezers & I worked for a large competitor a few years back that definitely did)

stayathomegardener · 19/08/2022 16:26

The driver had a van full of food but apparently it was all picked and packed manually hence the mixed orders.

whynotwhatknot · 19/08/2022 16:26

thats crap look like ive got mine just in time

FeelingwearyFeeelingsmall · 19/08/2022 16:29

I gave up on Tesco early in lockdown because they did this so often. I now use Ocado, waitrose or Morrisons and although they are sometimes late they have always showed up.

cushioncovers · 19/08/2022 16:32

Tescos helpline are saying any orders after 1pm won't be delivered and won't be rescheduled. Confused. I should have realised something was up earlier when I didn't get the confirmation email telling me what I had ordered and what was out of stock.

Redpriestandmozart · 19/08/2022 16:53

I got the email at 1.55 pm for 2-3 slot delivery and jumped right on and could only get a click and collect for 8-9 am in the morning. We're having visitors tomorrow so the order was full of junk food and wine. Bit of a hassle but it will work out ok. My DH not impressed as he's going to collect it now.

Tobysmum18 · 19/08/2022 16:53

I had a 12-1 delivery slot booked for today. Intended to go dead on 12 on the way back from morning outing with kids. Got a text saying issues so please come after 1.15. Bit annoying but kept kids out a bit longer and actually went into store to fill some time looking at clothes etc. Got to click and collect to be told sorry order not ready. Might be ready later this afternoon but likely will just be cancelled. I told them I wouldn’t be back a second time so to cancel. Wish they had let me know before 1.15 when I was in store though so I could at least have bought in bread and milk.

fufflecake · 19/08/2022 16:55

I agree with PP that saying they are sorry if it's caused any inconvenience is a bit silly as very few people do a tesco order for things for fun

Our 2-3pm delivery arrived ok, just seen this thread. So perhaps not affecting everyone.

I am generally a bit disappointed with Tesco reliability this year. On a couple of occasions we've waited for a delivery that hasn't arrived, no communication or apology. Other times they've cancelled with no explanation.

Bordesleyhills · 19/08/2022 16:58

Ahh Tuesday was a bank issue - my shopping came . Have rang and rang payment line for Sainsbury’s left my details- still waiting after about 4 hours on phon3

StarlightLady · 19/08/2022 17:03

There is no excuse not to call or email. But I wonder if there is a huge outage? I've just come back from Boots and their pharmacy was not working due to "technical issues". Yesterday the NHS Covid pass ap was down. Today Apple have acknowledged flaws in their operating system.

There is..they might not have access to the system that let's them call or email.

Unanananana · 19/08/2022 17:07

Got a delivery booked for 9-10pm tonight. They've taken the money.

No email, text or anything currently and I can't get through to their customer service. Guess I'll have to just wait FFS
