When my DH and I first got together, he used to text me when I was in work to ask what knickers I was wearing. Back then, in the honeymoon phase it was quite sexy and I’d reply telling him. Fast forward ten years; we’re now married and have two young DCs. The underwear thing lost it’s novelty for me about 9.5 years ago but he still asks me. I hate it, he knows I hate it, but he still asks. We’re in our 40s FFS!! So AIBU and this is just a harmless little thing and I shouldn’t let it wind me up or AINBU and I’m justified in it being annoying?

Bless him. He’s trying to keep the magic alive. Pre-empt him, ask about his pants and vest.

UnimpeachableBravery · 22/07/2022 20:06

Have you told him to stop?

EBearhug · 22/07/2022 20:08

Just tell him.

"They're the big, baggy greying ones with the elastic coming loose and the hole at the side."

SobranieCocktail · 22/07/2022 20:10

Lol!!

SobranieCocktail · 22/07/2022 20:10

That was @EBearhug

Tlolljs · 22/07/2022 20:12

Yep. Big grey belly warmers. Or none.

hesttreat · 22/07/2022 20:14

My period pants?

UpToMyElbowsInDiapers · 22/07/2022 20:15

If you’ve told him it annoys you, and he Carries on, YANBU. Next time maybe the answer is: “My period underwear but they’re nearly soaked through. Any chance you could stop by with a fresh pair and bring these ones home for a wash?”

Pansypotter123 · 22/07/2022 20:16

What about the once white, now grey, mumsy type bra - the one where the straps are held together with safety pins. Go on! Tell him about that too!

bluegardenflowers · 22/07/2022 20:17

just ignore it, hopefully he will just stop if you dont react

No thanks. Can you find pictures of really awful underwear and text one back every time?

CantaloupeMelon · 22/07/2022 20:17

I assume you've tried just not replying?

11Hawkins · 22/07/2022 20:17

Bridget Jones pants. Is your next answer to that one.

Veryverycalmnow · 22/07/2022 20:18

Do you always reply?

Minikievs · 22/07/2022 20:19

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Terriblethirtytwos · 22/07/2022 20:21

What do you say when he asks? Have you asked him to stop? If you have, he is a total creep.

Nottodayseagull · 22/07/2022 20:21

I'd just send him nice screenshots of expensive matching underwear that you actually want every time and include a website link and your size and that you will wear them as soon as they arrive and thank you for thinking of a gift and what you would like WinkSmile

wherearebeefandonioncrisps · 22/07/2022 20:22

Yep... tell him that your Sloggi Maxi Briefs are keeping the chill off your kidneys ( thanks mum!)

inininsomnia · 22/07/2022 20:22

All my knickers are exactly the same, plain black. Bet that would get boring quickly.

Watchkeys · 22/07/2022 20:22

Tell him you'll stop opening his messages if he does it one more time.

FayeGovan · 22/07/2022 20:22

Can you not just tell him to fucking wrap it?

huuskymam · 22/07/2022 20:23

Tell I'm granny ones, how's that doing for him, 😂😂😂. He'll soon stop with the same reply day after day

Penguinfeather781 · 22/07/2022 20:24

DH and I don’t bother each other at work unless it’s actually important and time critical (sick child usually) - I’d be really annoyed by repeated interruptions to ask me about my pants, especially after ten years and if he knew it annoyed me. I mean annoying me is hardly a turn on is it?!

That said for me it’s simple enough, I own a dozen pairs of identical plain cotton pants and that’s it. So he’d get awfully bored of my answer!

Sidisawetlettuce · 22/07/2022 20:24

Describe your skidmarks. That should put him off.

WTF475878237NC · 22/07/2022 20:25

I voted yabu because this isn't an age thing to me. Some couples enjoy this kind of flirting at any age and stage of relationship. He's possibly trying to connect to you as you once we're. Not mum in her 40s as you put it.
