What about it?

PoleFairy · 19/07/2022 14:42

We had fish and chips by our local river yesterday. Was lovely. Could totally eat Chinese or pizza in this weather too but that's probably it

Squishedpickle · 19/07/2022 14:42

Well, it means you don't have to warm up the kitchen. For me it depends very much on what type of food - I'd be quite happy to get some Greek food but I would probably find an Indian takeaway a bit much!

Rosycheeks21 · 19/07/2022 14:42

YANBU. The cooker will make the kitchen even hotter.

brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr · 19/07/2022 14:42

baffling. what difference does the heat make ?

Nc830 · 19/07/2022 14:43

@Immaterialatthispoint
am I being unreasonable to order one… just thinking of delivery drivers and cooks

Our local Chinese has closed for the day. I would feel a bit guilty

ThanksAntsThants · 19/07/2022 14:44

I was too hot to cook yesterday evening and thought about getting a takeaway, until I thought that some other poor bugger would have to cook it instead. I just did something simple in the end.

magicstar1 · 19/07/2022 14:49

Surely if the takeaway is open for business they need the custom. If it's too hot for them to work, then they close.

Ours has as well they popped a post on Facebook. Don’t blame them. TH look out for their staff.

Norma27 · 19/07/2022 14:52

Nowhere was delivering in our area yesterday. Not sure if they were open for collection though.

Brefugee · 19/07/2022 14:54

so there's a parallel thread saying we shouldn't have to work when it's hot. Or does that only apply to middle class jobs? Who is going to cook and deliver these takeaways?

HarrfordFern · 19/07/2022 14:57

What is a middle class job?!

pd339 · 19/07/2022 14:58

Oh my lord, this possibly wins the prize for the most ridiculous AIBU of the day. Do what you want for goodness sake. No-one else cares!

LGY1 · 19/07/2022 14:58

The delivery drivers directly employed by JustEat were sent home yesterday

anotherbrewplease · 19/07/2022 14:59

My DS delivers Indian takeaway - they were busy last night and he's working tonight. He's not bothered by the heat in the slightest.

Oh to be 21 again!!

Enjoy your takeaway OP

Nc830 · 19/07/2022 14:59

@pd339 think about what kind of person you are to not even consider delivery drivers or cooks. Many people do care, I’m afraid. It’s a genuine question. Please remove yourself from this post

@HarrfordFern not working in a Takeaway restaurant, apparently!

Exactly.... If they are open, just order and stop overthinking... Places which were too unbearable closed. Quite a few here did, aome atayed open because they have better airflow and extractors

Bubblebubblebah · 19/07/2022 15:00

If anyone is used to heat, it's takeaway workers😂

Same here otherwise I would, different kitchens have different temperatures so let those businesses make their own decisions.

motherofawhirlwind · 19/07/2022 15:02

We had Burger King from the nearest services yesterday, on the basis they'd have AC and it'd be open anyway Smile

Oblomov22 · 19/07/2022 15:03

The concern is nice, but If they are open, then it's ok?

They need to earn money.

Nc830 · 19/07/2022 15:05

Wondering if the upper class know that the delivery drivers aren’t employed by the restaurant.. or do they not care what the slaves do
