To get my hair cut like this at 42 years old?

I really like this cut. But is it a bit “young” for a 42 year old woman? My friend said I am too old for a cut like this.

i am 44 and had my hair like that for a long time but have just had it cut shorter jaw length bob with long fringe.

What? It’s a nice cut, but looks a fairly standard “long with shaggy fringe” cut. What does she think you should get? A purple rinse? A Queen Elizabeth 2nd “cabbage” style?

Your friend is mad. Haircuts with a fringe (to hide forehead wrinkles) is a +40 hair cut. It’s not a young haircut at all.

Its a very average looking hairstyle but quite nice.

What styles does your friend think are permitted and what does she thinks happens if you use one thats beyond those limits? Is she aware of modern styling products, shampoo, treatments, etc?

Fringe can be awful on some people. Lots of people, actually, especially if not cut properly. You may want to rethink it.
