To get my hair cut like this at 42 years old?

I really like this cut. But is it a bit “young” for a 42 year old woman? My friend said I am too old for a cut like this.

Someone told me I was too old for miniskirts aged 31 and I believed them. Now at 50 something, I realise what a load of rubbish that was! Don’t listen to others and go with your gut!

Just looks like a longer Bob and they're growing out their fringe tbh

61 here with tinted long layered hair and no fringe and it looks fkin awesome.
Anyone tells me I'm too old gets a mouthful.

You are only 42 so that is young. The haircut is lovely and do not see how that is a young haircut. It is a lovely cut and go for it and is your friend perhaps jealous as she sounds very old fashioned also. Post photo when you get it done.

The cut is very similar to my MiL's hair, and she's in her 80's! I have zero idea why your 'friend' thinks it's in any way controversial!

You could live till you're 100 years old so on that basis 42 means you're a complete youngster.
Your friend is talking bollocks. The only time you're too old to do something which makes you happy is when you're dead so just go for it.

Whilst a 20 year old would be able to carry off a messy cut, someone twice that age I think would just look scruffy. As you age you go for a classier look rather than try & keep up with the kids to try & look young, doing this makes you look older than you are.

Do you know how snobby that sounds , are you the friend 🤣.Classy look well I am 52 dye my hair, wear Dm's have two eyebrow piercings amongst other piercings .Obviously I am not classy then 🤣🤣.Funny how it doesn't bother my employer's my family or my friends.Maybe it is because they aren't judgemental. OP go for it , ignore your friend just because women suddenly are not in our 20's any more doesn't mean we have to wear sensible shoes and have sensible clothes and hair. @SiobhanSharpe it is a school uniform, it’s a shot from a Spanish show on Netflix called Elite, which I feel like I am the only person to ever have watched! It’s a ridiculous but very enjoyable show about a posh Spanish high school. Lots of sex.

I'm 45 and just had a bright pink undercolour done. I love it, have had to have a "sensible" hair colour for work before this.

What on earth is especially 'young' about it? Maybe bows and pink hairgrips with Miss Kitty and bunches would be ... but to me this is just a pretty and understated cut! Go for it! I say!
