To think this bedding doesn't go in my bedroom?

Spent a lot of money on new bedding as pictured (navy cushions haven't been added yet). I thought a yellow and navy theme for the bedroom but now I've set it all up I'm thinking I've made a mistake. Husband thinks it's fine.

AIBU to think this doesn't go at all?

It doesn't match, but who cares? It's only you and your husband who have got to sleep there

ApolloandDaphne · 25/06/2022 15:10

The colour is fine but I wouldn't have put two floral patterns together.

elenacampana · 25/06/2022 15:11

I think the colours contrast well, but I personally would only have florals in one place in a room and there are three in your room so for me, that’s a bit much.

justthecat · 25/06/2022 15:11

Agree there’s too much pattern

JuneJubilee · 25/06/2022 15:11

You're right, it doesn't. The navy isn't the problem, it's the white & clashing patterns.

Can you return it?

Ohthatsexciting · 25/06/2022 15:11

Good heavens no it doesn’t go

Chikapu · 25/06/2022 15:12

Too much going on with the wallpaper, curtains and bedding, the karate chop pillows also look ridiculous.

Indigokitten · 25/06/2022 15:12

Three different floral patterns (if you include the table lamps) and then check curtains. I think they clash, sorry.

DeathWinsAGolfish · 25/06/2022 15:12

Three florals, plus a check are a little too much, but agree it's your space and if you like it, that's what matters. Smile

MsOllie · 25/06/2022 15:13

I would go for plain bedding in toning colours as you've got the wallpaper pattern and curtains

MacavityTheDentistsCat · 25/06/2022 15:13

I agree that it doesn't go. I find the patterns too much together and the blue/white looks cold whereas the yellow looks warm.

Blowyourowntrumpet · 25/06/2022 15:13

The bed linen clashes with the wallpaper

anybloodyname · 25/06/2022 15:14

Plain bed linen , will look lovely

Maybe too small a room to be so busy ?

custardbear · 25/06/2022 15:14

Keep to 1 patterned item so I'd think plain would suit better. Saying that it is your bedroom so whatever you like goes!

ClaudiusTheGod · 25/06/2022 15:15

‘Karate chop pillows’ 🤣

Ohthatsexciting · 25/06/2022 15:15

No statement wall
Instead some really beautiful and flamboyant bedding

ComDummings · 25/06/2022 15:15

As everyone else has said the colour is great but there’s a lot of pattern going on. If the bedding feels nice don’t worry about it though!

MsOllie · 25/06/2022 15:17

Mine. I have grey so people will hate it, but I find grey v calming. If you've got plain walls it's easier to do clashing patterns

Iamthehickeymonster · 25/06/2022 15:19

Too busy.

ApolloandDaphne · 25/06/2022 15:19

I didn't see the checked curtains on my first look. It's all a bit much. A mustard duvet with a toning green/blue throw would have been much nicer.

Dahlietta · 25/06/2022 15:20

Too many patterns and I don't think the colours of the bedding work either. Not that it would really bother me!

mangotoo · 25/06/2022 15:21

What's happened to your pillows??? 😵‍💫

PurpleButterflyWings · 25/06/2022 15:21

Looks all right to me. Confused

anybloodyname · 25/06/2022 15:23

@MsOllie I love the grey still, I know it's not popular but if I could afford to decorate now I'd do the same .. love it

Have a vision of a dove grey and pale yellow bedroom ..

NellesVilla · 25/06/2022 15:23

Wow, you’re brave, OP. As a life-long lover of neutrals (particularly grey) I genuinely applaud your bold use of colour and pattern. I couldn’t/wouldn’t be up for it, but I admire your vision. If you like it, surely that’s what matters?!
