I thought I would start a thread. It's muggy and I'm tired. I can't wait for the cool Autumn days and darker evenings 🤣

I'm with you!

Blossomtoes · 15/06/2022 17:46

We get three months of summer if we’re lucky. Please don’t begrudge those of us who enjoy it. Much as winter depresses me, I have to put up with it.

Jesus OP

"Can't wait for winter."

"Holy cow, look at these heating bills! Roll on summer!"

Snowpatrolling · 15/06/2022 17:47

Thankyou! I have found my person!
im miserable in this weather! Want my pjs and comfy cardi back!!
got a burnt arm from driving around today!

Mally100 · 15/06/2022 17:47

It is too hot but it's only 2-3 Months of the year. It has barely started and people are complaining. 🙄

She’s not begrudging you, she can’t physically take the sun away from you can she!
so enjoy and let us moan about the heat for Christ sake!!!

NashvilleQueen · 15/06/2022 17:50

It's cloudy and about 18 degrees in the north west. I can't wait for hot and muggy

WhatsInAMolatovMocktail · 15/06/2022 17:50

I'm with you OP! I just bought some blackout fabric to block the light from all the windows in my house. We are north facing and I'm still too hot!

How do people in south facing homes cope?!

Isitsixoclockalready · 15/06/2022 17:52

I often get terrible hayfever but I do love the bit of summer that we have. Winter means foul weather and chapped hands and endless evenings indoors.

bambi1132 · 15/06/2022 17:53

I'm with you too OP. I hate summer with a passion, I'm uncomfortable, sweaty, tired because the sun appears at an ungodly hour. Can't wait for the colder cosy months

Well, if you feel very hot and uncomfortable in it, you feel hot and uncomfortable! Heat makes people irritable and however long we have it for is irrelevant to whether you complain or not.

Come to Scotland. It's only 15C and I've got my central heating on.

I must admit, I prefer cooler but light evenings

Fairislefandango · 15/06/2022 17:58

Only 21 degrees here. Perfect!

mmmmmmghturep · 15/06/2022 18:07

Big slow hand clap to the housing associations who have over insulated flats and turned them into sweat boxes.

AllHailKingLouis · 15/06/2022 19:22

I love winter. Dark days, rain, snow, wind … absolutely love it.

can’t stand summer with all the fair weather dog owners out with their off lead dogs and kids screeching outside until 10pm at night

LikeAStar1994 · 15/06/2022 19:26

Just amazing how many people are taking this thread so personally. Get yourselves a grip.

I was about to say this! Scotland is perfect for people who hate being too hot.

TheLostNights · 15/06/2022 19:31

I am with you. I despise this weather.

  1. The feeling of being constantly uncomfortable and never feeling fresh.
  2. The headaches and feeling sick.
  3. The hell that is working in a nursery in the heat.
  4. Never being able to sleep as it's far too hot and uncomfortable
  5. Hay-fever
  6. Constantly red faced

Yes, I hate it. For those that say we only get a few days of it, not if you are down south you don't. We had uncomfortably hot days in April and can last on and off until September. I cannot wait for autumn.

I'm hot and sweaty in the north of Scotland...

MintJulia · 15/06/2022 19:37

It's finally crept above 21 and already people are grumbling. I don't get it. It's warm enough at last to wear a linen top and skirt. To dump the sweaters and cardigans, to sit outside for an hour in the evening with a glass of wine.

It's warm enough to go running at 6am (my favourite time), warm enough to leave the window open all night.

It won't last long - maybe 4 months, and then we'll be back to the grim and grey. I intend to enjoy it. 😎

skybluee · 15/06/2022 19:41

It's mad how we're all different because this is the first day I've been comfortable and quite honestly, I wish I was like you as living in England it's not exactly the hottest place in the world. I'd rather be comfortable through autumn, winter and spring.

This is the first day I've been able to wear shorts :D

steff13 · 15/06/2022 19:41

The "real feel" temperature here is 115* F today. A couple of days next week, it's going to be 120s. We have A/C, but that means our bills never go down. I don't love it.

Sunnytwobridges · 15/06/2022 19:42

Same. I'd be happy with the fall, it's my favorite time of the year. Its 35C/95F degrees here and i'm miserable. And it's just going to get hotter.
