I'm suprised the Mail article cause such a stir. And it's way more offensive to Boris than Angela. I think she's come off really well from this, raises her profile. I wouldn't be suprised if this was entirely made up by the journo and there is no leak.

I can easily believe a Tory backbencher really did think this was a slur on AR.
Self awareness isn't a strong point of most of them.
I think she's handling it with dignity though and hopefully people will see past her glaring error and notice she's a hardworking, clever woman.

RandomMess · 25/04/2022 14:44

I mean Boris gets flashed a bit of leg and can't contain his sexual excitement!!!!

As a recently married man I'm sure that's gone down well 🤣

thistimelastweek · 25/04/2022 14:46

@MayorDusty what's Angela's glaring error?

MayorDusty · 25/04/2022 14:48

Imo Twaw.

Squirrelandnuts · 25/04/2022 14:49

I do hope so. I think she's great at her job; it just goes to show never write people off when they are young.

She definetly deserves better support from a lot more women. She has not had an easy ride, but look at where she is now.

More to the point, why would you not support her; she has had to fight career battles over and over again that few of us truly understand.

She represents strong, focused women and working class people - there's nothing wrong with that!✊

GetThatHelmetOn · 25/04/2022 14:49

What’s her error? Crossing her legs in Parliament, Jesus, how dared she??

Soultrader · 25/04/2022 14:53

She's been sexually harassed by a national publication who suggested she flashed her genitals to get on at work. How can it be good for her?

MayorDusty · 25/04/2022 14:53

Sorry that wasn't clear.
I think her error is saying twaw nothing to do with her legs^^

valerianaofficiana · 25/04/2022 16:24

Sorry, but for Boris, Angela R would never compute in a 'Basic instinct' way. 🤢

Well she's getting a lot of PR over it making her more of a household name which will help her and It's ultimately pretty flattering (the idea that she could be so attractive it distracts the PM from what he's saying!) but it's not driven by her and she can rise above it.

I have no idea if this is true, I don't even care. But what I would say is this.. what if it's true? What I'd AR really did flash her legs/fanny/ whatever? Why are we jumping straight to the conclusion that women are always the victim?

Yorksirenotsorose · 26/04/2022 23:17

The same AR who recently said ""We cannot get any worse than a bunch of scum, homophobic, racist, misogynistic, absolute vile … banana republic, vile, nasty, Etonian… piece of scum." At the labour conference, yep classy one she is. Take a bit more than this to raise her profile 🤣

What is "twaw"?

EYProvider · 27/04/2022 02:24

@Yorksirenotsorose - You know, written down, her speech sounds like something you would read on here. Don’t you think that’s a bit strange? Almost as strange for the support for AR on here, which is completely at odds with what 95% of the British public think of her.

Serious question - is Mumsnet run by the Labour Party?

Nat6999 · 27/04/2022 02:30

I can't wait for PMQ's tomorrow, I hope Labour make Boris squirm, I can't believe this has come from a backbencher, it has to be a deflection for Partygate & every other trouble Boris is in.

What if a gorilla riding a motorcycle charged head-on into oncoming traffic, forcing a school bus off the road and into the underbrush and startling a passing bear who then panicked and tripped over a Guatemalan nun visiting on a charter bus tour, thus inciting an international incident that led to a embargo against the UK which resulted in an ongoing shortage of crayons?

Generally, the burden is on the accuser to prove, or show convincing evidence, that a particular thing happened. Speculating that some random thing MIGHT have happened is a bit silly and unethical - and in this particular context probably slightly pervy.

Thanks for quoting that. I was desperately trying to find it and couldn't. As you say - classy lady. Women everywhere should be proud of her political discourse and intelligent handling of important issues.

JustAnotherPoster00 · 27/04/2022 02:57

Homophones, racism and misogyny is scummy, MN at its finest ignore the behaviour focus on the name they're called because of said behaviour 🙄

JustAnotherPoster00 · 27/04/2022 03:06

Homophobia*

Libertybear80 · 27/04/2022 03:24

The misogynistic ape that went to the Mail deserves all they get and if AR comes out of it well then great. It's just very sad some people can't concentrate on the politics. Attempting to deflect from the PM party gate well it has achieved that hasn't it?

AlternativePerspective · 27/04/2022 04:35

I can’t stand the woman.

Sounds more like a publicity stunt on the part of the Labour Party to me.

AR is fairly widely despised and no, disliking someone does not equal misogyny, she would be equally disliked if she was a man with the same views.

The whole article is so ridiculous that it’s actually laughable and IMO not even worthy of discussion.

Libertybear80 · 27/04/2022 04:39

@AlternativePerspective ok Boris calm down!

JayAlfredPrufrock · 27/04/2022 04:42

Sha has great hair though.

Nightlystroll · 27/04/2022 04:51

I agree that this will bring more publicity to AR and she will get invited onto more tv shows to roll out her views. And so, because she comes across as so unlikeable, it will actually work out in the Tories favour.
