People (from what I am reading in a variety of places on the internet) seem to have decided this even before the trial has been concluded. Presumably, we won't know all of the evidence until the trial ends.

The previous trial in the UK concluded that there was indeed evidence that JD was indeed a wife beater. How come everyone feels that they are sure previous trial had the wrong verdict?

Because villains shit in people beds?

PansyPetunia · 24/04/2022 20:06

Did the U.K. trial convict him?

Echobelly · 24/04/2022 20:07

TBH they've both coming over as pretty awful. But the court of social media is always bound to make out the woman to be worse because misogyny.

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 24/04/2022 20:08

Its the patriarchy at work.

givethatbabyaname · 24/04/2022 20:08

You find this dynamic often, and often it’s women who do the assuming! I’ve often wondered why. I’ve co closed, in the widest of sweeping generalizations, that it might be because women know that men are generally not capable of thinking beyond their dicks and wallets, and know women to be far more sophisticated, complex and generally more intelligent than men 😀. So, they “recognise” elements of themselves or other women they know in the villainess and can tell a bullshitter when they see one.

I should add I know nothing of the Depp/Heard saga (or even who Amber Heard is other than his ex-wife…)

PAFMO · 24/04/2022 20:09

Because we've been reading about the things she did for about 3 years now?
Haven't you?

Haudyourwheesht · 24/04/2022 20:09

She shat in his bed.

However, I don't have think one is the villain and one is the victim: I think they're both very messed up human beings and I'm very glad neither of them are in my life. It's like the 'a-list' (for want of a better term) run their lives by entirely different rules of social conduct.

x2boys · 24/04/2022 20:09

I don't think either of them are the paragons of virtue tbh

Theunamedcat · 24/04/2022 20:10

Because she admitted to beating him blatantly lied and got away with it because she is a woman

Because she had bruises on her fists from doing it

Because it was a toxic marriage they absolutely should be divorced but blame him totally because he is the man? No

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 24/04/2022 20:10

Neither seems to be a good guy exactly. She seems worse than him.

Innocenta · 24/04/2022 20:13

His bot army was an effective one. For some Hmm

oliviastwisted · 24/04/2022 20:14

They both are coming across as batshit. A real pity because on my opinion Johnny Depp was in the past an enormously talented actor. He is not good now because the drugs and alcohol are taking a toll. Honestly I’ve no idea who Amber Heard is.

fairylightsandwaxmelts · 24/04/2022 20:15

Neither of them come out of this looking good, but she shat in his bed and also lied about the make-up she used to cover her bruises.

The make-up company came out and said they hadn't even released that product when she claimed she was using it.

whumpthereitis · 24/04/2022 20:16

Why is ‘she shit in his bed’ being repeated as fact?

It’s nothing more than an allegation.

OvOvO · 24/04/2022 20:17

Neither of them come over as decent people 🤷‍♂️

KissedintheDark · 24/04/2022 20:18

JD said she shit in the bed, AH said it was the dog and it did it often.

A580Hojas · 24/04/2022 20:20

We're reading in different places OP as my understanding just from social chitter chatter (as I have not followed the trials for one second or even read a full newspaper article about the pair of them) is that JD is the arsehole and Amber is being hard done by.

MurderAtTheBeautyPageant · 24/04/2022 20:20

They're both abusive shits.

Life is like that sometimes, there's not always a goodie and a baddie. Just two people who don't know how to be in a functional relationship.

Cannot stand all the #teamdepp or #teamamber nonsense.

Mrsjayy · 24/04/2022 20:21

The trial is just to prove Amber's Is the" worstest" of the two so that's the narrative people are going with, they both are horrific people and unhinged!

DoubleShotEspresso · 24/04/2022 20:22

I think for the first time actually I'm with the male as being "victim" here.
AH conduct has been vile, transparent in its efforts and let's face it largely fabricated.
She's also set the "me too campaign " back severely - its incredible to me that any brand or film company will touch her at this stage.

PaperTyger · 24/04/2022 20:24

jD is established And has an absolute massive fan base.
Some people would never ever admit he did anything wrong even if this was a very clear cut case.

It's not a clear cut case at all though.

She's a tough cookies and witnessed unpleasant behaviour growing up.
She's not folded etc Ib the face of his monster
She should have of course Just refused to be with him at any point where he seemed inebriated.

BedknobsNoBroomsticks · 24/04/2022 20:28

I don't like her because of the way she used the fact that she is a woman to play the victim. She lied many times about being abused by Depp.

TheFuckOffCar · 24/04/2022 20:29

If a man had shit in his wife’s bed, I think we would all agree who the psycho was.
Also there’s a recording of him complaining that she’d punched him and she was saying she’d only slapped him, while calling him a big baby for complaining. He was saying that he knows the difference between a slap and a punch and that was a punch.
Would we all accept this if roles were reversed.
Depp was out of control a few times but the only person he seemed to hurt was himself.
A number of ex employees say that Depp was the abused party and after the supposed phone thrown at her injury, ex staff and a make up artist for an interview she went to the next day say they saw no injury on her face at all.
I think she realised the marriage was over and thought she wouldn’t get such a huge pay out if he accused her of violence towards him. So she concocted these accusations against him, for money.

CaptainMyCaptain · 24/04/2022 20:30

They sound as bad as each other.

CityRd · 24/04/2022 20:31

I agree.

Repeatedly on this thread it's: 'but she shat the bed' but no mention of his admission in texting: 'Let's drown her before we burn her and f@*k her dead corpse to make sure she's dead'.
