People (from what I am reading in a variety of places on the internet) seem to have decided this even before the trial has been concluded. Presumably, we won't know all of the evidence until the trial ends.

The previous trial in the UK concluded that there was indeed evidence that JD was indeed a wife beater. How come everyone feels that they are sure previous trial had the wrong verdict?

"MAD FUCKERS" 😂

knittingaddict · 24/04/2022 21:07

Not that I think JD is perfect by any means. He obviously has some substance abuse issues that added to the whole situation.

TheKeatingFive · 24/04/2022 21:07

but few people are buying the notion that AH is solely a victim and not also a perpetrator of violence.

That's not what the case is about though

The case is about whether she defamed Depp in referring to herself as a victim of domestic abuse. She can be simultaneously an abuser and abused.

MurderAtTheBeautyPageant · 24/04/2022 21:07

There are recordings of her admitting having hit him. It's not internalised misogyny to have heard them and think 'she sounds abusive'.

Momicrone · 24/04/2022 21:08

But hey he's talented and handsome

TheKeatingFive · 24/04/2022 21:08

He obviously has some substance abuse issues that added to the whole situation.

This is being kind. He's also spoken disgustingly about women and has huge anger issues/zero impulse control

LeavesOnTrees · 24/04/2022 21:10

I used to be a big Johnny Depp fan.
The whole trial is a circus where they're both coming off very badly indeed.
The evidence shows she was very abusive towards him. However, he is massively messed up with drug an alcohol problems and hasn't exactly behaved well either. He was never going to be able to have a healthy relationship. His text message was horrendous.

I also can't get over that he left his wife for a 20+ year younger woman, I thought he was more original than that.

MattDamon · 24/04/2022 21:17

This is what the judge said in the first case about the poo in the bed:

For what it is worth, I consider that it is unlikely that Ms Heard or one of her friends was responsible. Mr Depp had left that night for his property in Sweetzer. As long as he was away, it was Ms Heard who was likely to suffer from the faeces on the bed, not him. It was, therefore, a singularly ineffective means for Ms Heard or one of her friends to 'get back' at Mr Depp. Other evidence in the case showed that Boo (one of the two dogs) had an incomplete mastery of her bowels after she had accidentally consumed some marijuana. Ms Heard gave evidence that Boo had in the past defecated on the bed and that she herself had cleaned it up rather than leave that task to Ms Vargas. On 29th October 2014, Ms Heard wrote in a text message to Kevin Murphy that (see file 7/3(b)/H27.2),

'Last night she [Boo] shit on Johnny. While he was sleeping. Like all over him. Not exaggerating.'

Haudyourwheesht · 24/04/2022 20:09

She shat in his bed.

However, I don't have think one is the villain and one is the victim: I think they're both very messed up human beings and I'm very glad neither of them are in my life. It's like the 'a-list' (for want of a better term) run their lives by entirely different rules of social conduct.

Agree with this - they both seem completely vile.

ENoeuf · 24/04/2022 21:20

Tbh I’m struggling to see her abuse - if I’d recorded my ex I would have got a divorce a lot quicker . Plus sometimes when you are powerless you say shitty things

vdbfamily · 24/04/2022 21:28

A friend of mine shared a video of court proceedings on Facebook and it was a child talking. He claimed it was AH who was our of control, hitting JD and calling them all horrible names. The child claimed JD stuff not react or bit back and they would always try and walk away to a place of safety. I will try and find link.

Idontgiveashitanymore · 24/04/2022 21:29

I think they are both as bad as one another but in my opinion she played it up too much as the victim .

ClaudiusTheGod · 24/04/2022 21:36

It's a certain type of woman that is attracted to men like Johnny Depp and the tinder swindler

nice victim-blaming there.

Hutchy16 · 24/04/2022 21:36

Anyone who has read up on this case knows that she is an abuser who manufactured a story to get a better divorce settlement. It got out of hand, cost him millions in job roles, and he rightly has defended himself.

now the evidence shows that she lies, and she is the one who was abusive toward him, she hit him!!! But unfortunately some people still side with her because how could a woman possibly be the abuser! But she is a vile human and she is just getting in deeper and deeper and it will hopefully ruin her career like she tried to do to him

vdbfamily · 24/04/2022 21:38

apparently it was his sister not a child...apologies

Midlifemusings · 24/04/2022 21:42

This is a video from years ago of Amber's sister Whitney not wanting to talk about a physical fight she got into with Amber.

Suzi888 · 24/04/2022 21:43

He text his mate to burn her etc trashes hotel rooms, takes drugs, drinks to excess.
If he wasn’t a millionaire what would you label someone who does that?

She slept with someone much older, ‘cooler’ whatever…
Lets face facts - both are extremely wealthy - man or woman if you have been faced with violence from your partner MOST have no get out.
These two did. Ultimately neither would have ended up in a hostel.

Utter waste of resources!

LuaDipa · 24/04/2022 21:46

Because misogyny.

The reality is that neither of them come out of this looking good but people are much more willing to overlook/forgive JD’s despicable behaviour.

PlasticineMeg · 24/04/2022 21:49

CityRd · 24/04/2022 20:31

I agree.

Repeatedly on this thread it's: 'but she shat the bed' but no mention of his admission in texting: 'Let's drown her before we burn her and f@*k her dead corpse to make sure she's dead'.

Exactly.

the bar for men is so much lower especially if you’re a Hollywood actor who was once very crush-worthy.

it’s like with the Michael Jackson thing - people falling ice themselves to think of excuses as to why he wasn’t a pedophile, when he was the most obvious pedophile in the world. I mean I think Depp is the world’s most obvious wife beater. Heard is a woman who stuck up for herself and didn’t ascribe to the weak willed shaking terrified stereotypical victim. She was strong and gave it back. People REALLY don’t like it when women do that

TheKeatingFive · 24/04/2022 21:49

So many people fundamentally misunderstand what this trial is about.

Its not about who's the biggest bad, but simply whether or not Heard is justified in calling herself a victim of domestic abuse.

Essentially the same question as the U.K. trial, which Depp lost.

AdamRyan · 24/04/2022 21:51

I get so confused why some people are so adamant about Depp being abused.
He lost the libel case against the Sun for calling him a wife beater - so a judge ruled that was not incorrect.
HE is suing Heard for defamation by calling him abusive - she isn't taking him to court.
I think he is abusive. She hasn't been in court over any of her alleged abuse - so I don't have an opinion about it because nothing has been proven against her.
However with Depp it seems to be "innocent even when proven guilty"

TheKeatingFive · 24/04/2022 21:52

Yup

Windbeneathmybingowings · 24/04/2022 21:54

I’ve had loads of “I stand with JD” posts on my feed both insta, fB and Twitter.

i don’t “stand” with anyone, I think they are both abusers.

lioncitygirl · 24/04/2022 21:54

She’s an absolute abuser. But no matter the outcome - he will pay the price for this. His career is over, he will always be known as a wife beater, even though there is real evidence she beat him. It’s him that will lose in this, no matter the outcome.
