To feel like fucking crying?

My partner has a stomach bug. He caught it off the kids and he's had a couple of accidents.

Came in from work today to find the house stinking of shit. It's everywhere - our bed is going to have to be replaced, the bedroom carpet is ruined, it's on the stair carpet and the hall carpet downstairs.

I've just spent 45mins scrubbing the (tiny) bathroom because there was shit literally everywhere.

Can't really afford to buy a new bed but the mattress is heavily stained, now on both sides. It's going to cost hundreds for that and the carpets. Genuinely feel like crying my eyes out. Probably not helped by the fact he's doing nothing to help (like putting his soiled clothes in the shower rather than just leaving them). I've got piles of washing to do still too.

Aibu to be utterly fed up?

Hmm
Davethecat2001 · 06/04/2022 15:17

God no that sounds awful.

Should he not be seeing a doctor or something though if he's so ill he's literally shitting everywhere?

Shuuu · 06/04/2022 15:17

I don’t think this is normal Op! I feel a bit confused by it. I’m sorry your having a hard time

Vapeyvapevape · 06/04/2022 15:18

How has it got on the carpet? Has be been running around naked ?

I would get the carpets professionally cleaned and just replace the mattress.

Sebastianthecoo · 06/04/2022 15:18

Is he going around naked shitting everywhere? Because it sounds like he is and I’d be packing his bags for him if that’s the case. He’s not so unwell that he can’t go up and down the stairs so he’s not so unwell that he can’t manage to clean up. I’d buy a bucket of bleach and packet of nappies and leave him to it.

iklboo · 06/04/2022 15:19

What the hell?

CakeIsNotALuxury · 06/04/2022 15:19

How did he manage to get it everywhere? He's an adult isn't he? HmmConfused

Lsquiggles · 06/04/2022 15:19

How on earth has that happened to a grown man?

WeirdlyKind · 06/04/2022 15:19

@Davethecat2001

God no that sounds awful.

He had a phone consultation to and they said noro, just gotta wait until it clears.

Not sure what the face is for but if you don't believe me, I can post pics. Not sure why I'd make something like this up?

I have never heard of anyone shitting around the house, not even poorly trained toddlers.

Lweji · 06/04/2022 15:19

It sounds like you should replace the house items and the partner. I'm guessing he's not that great even without the stomach bug.

Does he seem contrite at all?

beenaroundtheblox · 06/04/2022 15:19

A grown man shouldn't be soiling himself like that. Maybe once at a push if he has norovirus or something but after that he would surely ensure it didn't happen again. I call bullshit.

stuntbubbles · 06/04/2022 15:20

Unless there’s a drip-feed about special needs or disability, there’s no reason a grown man with the shits should get it anywhere than the loo. I’ve got D&V right now and while it’s awful, I’ve managed to keep my bodily fluids to the loo and the sick bowl for 48 hours.

I would honestly not be able to forgive a partner who did this. Is he trying to punish you? Is there something else going on?

tuscanleather · 06/04/2022 15:20

Right then.

Pursefirst · 06/04/2022 15:20

Has he had the accidents OP, or was it the kids? If it was your DP then Confused

eosmum · 06/04/2022 15:21

mattresses and carpets can be professionally cleaned. Mattress cost around 40 quid around here. But I seriously think you have bigger issues. Best of luck.

Pumperthepumper · 06/04/2022 15:21

I'm not sure why you'd make something like this up either.

ladydimitrescu · 06/04/2022 15:21

Eh?
I mean, sorry for TMI but I absolutely didn't make it a couple times with noro and it was horrific - but I really don't understand how/why he's shitting everywhere?? How is it getting all over the carpets? Get some Incontinence pads and kylie pads for the bed - and tell him to stop shitting all over the house? Hmm

Hollyhead · 06/04/2022 15:21

That is not normal for a stomach bug.

Rinatinabina · 06/04/2022 15:21

This is a it insane, is he a dog? It sounds like he’s been rubbing his ass all over the place. Not sure I believe anyone can be that disgusting.

Rinatinabina · 06/04/2022 15:22

I mean i get not quite making it to the bathroom, but how the hell do you get it all over the house

Whiskersonkittens21 · 06/04/2022 15:22

Either this isn't real or he is deliberately shitting around the house.

DippyHippyChick · 06/04/2022 15:22

Agree with pps, I've never heard of a compos mentis adult soiling everywhere like that even with the worst kind of gastro upset. Sorry you're having to deal with this x

BarryKentPoet · 06/04/2022 15:23

Even when my insides were turning inside out with chemotherapy, never once did I shit anywhere but the bathroom.

WeirdlyKind · 06/04/2022 15:23

No idea how he's managed to make so much mess! I'm absolutely disgusted but trying not to be horrible to him because he's clearly ill.

Just spent a fortune buying incontinence pants and more cleaning stuff.
