To feel like fucking crying?

My partner has a stomach bug. He caught it off the kids and he's had a couple of accidents.

Came in from work today to find the house stinking of shit. It's everywhere - our bed is going to have to be replaced, the bedroom carpet is ruined, it's on the stair carpet and the hall carpet downstairs.

I've just spent 45mins scrubbing the (tiny) bathroom because there was shit literally everywhere.

Can't really afford to buy a new bed but the mattress is heavily stained, now on both sides. It's going to cost hundreds for that and the carpets. Genuinely feel like crying my eyes out. Probably not helped by the fact he's doing nothing to help (like putting his soiled clothes in the shower rather than just leaving them). I've got piles of washing to do still too.

Aibu to be utterly fed up?

That link isn't working, can you add it to the thread?
Honestly, no one needs to see that picture on a thread. It's disgusting.

Honestly I'd rather not - I'd prefer them somewhere I can delete them!

@Hoppinggreen

Really? Firstly why would he do this and Secondly why do you feel the need to share it?
For the same reason any of us share our despair and horrible life moments on Mumsnet – for help and advice. I’d certainly want a handhold, some tough love and some solidarity if my DP shit over our entire house and left me to scrub it.

OP, where is he now and why isn’t he cleaning up?

The link is working. It’s gross. Stop being obsessive and weird over wanting to see someone else’s shit.
WeirdlyKind · 06/04/2022 15:45

He's downstairs on the the couch! He really does look properly unwell and I'm worried about him on top of being annoyed. ☹️

Bloody hell op. I'm actually devastated for you. I'll admit I was 100% sceptical but you poor poor thing.

beenaroundtheblox · 06/04/2022 15:45

@daisychainsandrainbows

Did the kids he caught this from shit all over the house too or did they manage to use a fucking toilet?

It's truly vile and if he had one accident he should have quickly learnt to stay put in the bathroom. I would not be dealing with this. Check into a hotel with the kids and leave him to clear up his own mess the dirty bastard.

While I agree about the hotel etc being a nice idea it's a bit tone deaf really when she's already said she's going to struggle to pay for new carpets, mattress etc. Not everyone can just check into a hotel!!
Dancer47 · 06/04/2022 15:45

Oh love!
That needs a carpet cleaner on it asap - 24 hour rug doctor or similar, asap.

Can't sort that completely by hand.
Your partner being upstairs when the toilet is downstairs is the problem - he should have camped outside the bathroom if he couldn't camp out in it.

BarryKentPoet · 06/04/2022 15:45

Why did I click on that photo Sad

Mummytobe93 · 06/04/2022 15:45

NO WAY 😳😳😳

I had an acute appendicitis, was shitting and vomiting at the same time for hrs. I simply stayed I the bathroom that day

I CANNOT comprehend how an adult with no additional needs can shit all over the house, no matter how ill. If it’s that bad he needs a pad.

You’ve got my sympathy OP

Chikapu · 06/04/2022 15:45

OP, do you think he'll be mortified when he's better or will it be no big deal to him?

saraclara · 06/04/2022 15:46

WTF with people wanting pictures? And I'm so glad that my husband didn't take the view that nearly all of you have, and think that when it happened to his wife, I was some disgusting pig that did it on purpose.

Yes, OP's husband should be cleaning it up, but believe me, this can happen, albeit it rarely. No-one wants to do this. It's horrifically mortifying, and some of the horrible comments on here make me want those posters to experience it, to be honest.

Pumperthepumper · 06/04/2022 15:46

123cupcake4 · 06/04/2022 15:46

Maybe he should go to a and e. That's nor normal

ComeSailAway · 06/04/2022 15:46

You will probably have to save "the discussion" for when he's well.
In the meantime try to keep being kind. I had Norovirus once and it was utterly horrible. (And I say that as a person with a brain tumour!)

momtoboys · 06/04/2022 15:46

I'm sorry but the responses here are making me laugh.

Mummytobe93 · 06/04/2022 15:47

He should only drink, no solid food, wear a pad and if it continues I’d take him to A&E, he must be dehydrated at best.

I clicked it and it worked. You had to ask!
TonyBlairsLover · 06/04/2022 15:47

Oh it’s come up now ignore me

Cuddlywaterfall · 06/04/2022 15:47

OP you can rent a Rug Doctor from places like Tesco. It will clean the carpets properly and I think some of them have attachments for upholstery so you can clean your mattress.
In the meantime tell your DP to wrap a towel round himself if he's actually shitting through this trousers.

BarryKentPoet · 06/04/2022 15:47

It did post!
NancyPickford · 06/04/2022 15:47

What is his reaction to this? Mortified? Apologetic? Unbothered?
Has he actually seen the damage he has caused, and did he not offer to clean it?

ToiletGambles · 06/04/2022 15:48

I think he should get a different opinion, this is absolutely not normal! I would phone NHS direct and see what they say. I hope he is ok and feels better soon. Hope you find a solution for getting everywhere clean, I really feel for you.
